When I get the seats, I will weigh them and weigh the stock seats when they come off. It'll still be a few weeks though.

Definately, much less!...and a much more substantial weight reduction!

+1, but I am NOT willing to go w/o side impact air bags. I would rather eliminate rear seats etc... before I sacrafice the air bags. But don't believe I'm ever going to eliminate rear seats as they sometimes do come in very handy lol!

My BMW dealer here in Brisbane has a white 135 all tricked up with those seats, performance brakes as well as as front & rear spoiler lips, wheels etc, looks really good.

I think these seats in a M3 would cheepen the car, let alone sit in them for a 2 or 3 hour drive, would murder on the body.

Exactly... the BMW seats may be expensive but they really are the best option to maintain factory parameters while losing some weight (can't wait to see actually how much) and gaining a more aggressive seat.

I wasn't into modding at all... until I saw these!!!
Nevertheless, the fact that I will not be able to track more than 4-5 times a year combined to the price (are they platinum-plated???) make this a no no for me.

BTW, I fully agree with Lucid, once the side bolsters are well adjusted, then the original seat performs sufficiently (for a novice like me).

Agreed that these look good, but I don't know that they will provide firmer positioning on the track unless they happen to "fit" you just right. The bolsters don't look adjustable to me, and that makes a huge difference.
The weight of stock M3 seats was confirmed at 62.6lbs. each, and the Performance seats are 55.0 each, for a difference of 7.6 lbs each or 15.2 lbs./pair in this thread:

BMW Performance seats are not light by any means due mainly to the airbags.

If weight is a concern, might as well get the Recaro Sportster seats (sans airbags) for much less at 31lbs without hardware.

Yep, I agree. You can also eliminate the subwoofer that will take some additional weight off.
