In my opinion, the stock exhaust of the E9X M3 sounds crap compared to most other V8 stock exhausts out there. Now we already know this car is an I6 + 2 turbo's so you can't expect a better sound than that, stock anyhow. I'm sure aftermarket variations and M performance will sound great.

does sound great... but we are all very spoiled listening to the S65. if BMW had never built the S65 and went right to this motor, wed all think this sounds great. I remember my E46M3 "tang" sound it would make... loved it.

Sounds good. Everyone who says otherwise probaly has only experienced the s65. Can't compare a v8 to i6 w/ turbo.

IMO these cars sound sooooooo much better running single exhaust rather than the twin pipes in tandem. I really miss the sound of my e46 m3. sounded great. this will no doubt be a little more muted due to the turbos, but if this is stock, wait till you hear one with full exhaust.

To be honest....
I have a Honda lawn mower and it sounds better than OP video !
So let's hope that it sounds better under load !
I'm curious to hear this ///M4 DTM safety car with Performance exhaust in person ....

Bmw marketing at its finest. the stock exhaust sounds like crap, so we can all dish out 4k to get the performance exhaust

i think people forget the e92 is more than exhaust notes....the engine induction sound is something you just don't get anywhere outside of super-car territory. Will a I6 + turbo give you that?

these turbo I6 engines are not known for there sound. its a fundamental thing. i do not like the sound stock and will not like the sound with a exhuast.

the days of M cars sounding really good are over. even the F10 V8 sounds OK at best. when compared to the N/A V10 and N/A V8 before that.

the E46 and E92 are going to sound better than the F80. simple fact no exhuast will change this. turbos hurt exhuast noise. rather its a 4 cylinder or 8 cylinder doesn't matter.

I don't know what your definition of a good sounding exhaust is, but that's NOT a good sounding exhaust regardless of what engines I've heard. There are plenty if N54 exhaust out there that sound a LOT better than that lawn mower.
What's particularly concerning is there are a few vids of the F80 that sound like this, and there's even a guy in the vid who says it sounds like his Prius.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
