oil change
Ok guys this is my first BMW i been driving honda and acura for the last 7yrs, so when i check with the service department they said they change the oil every 15k that sound a little to long for a high rev engine in an e92 m3.
i was wondering if anyone change your oil them self or pay the dealer to do it after how many miles? thanks |

I WILL be changing my oil, but I am only at 600 miles. I plan to change mine every 5K or less. So looks like I will be doing two changes between dealer changes.
I think 15K(or so) is ridiculous for an oil change. Yeah, they lubricating properties of the oil is still good at 15K, but the issue is the additives in the oil that get consumed....plus fuel contamination, etc. I will be changing mine for sure every 5K or less. I can't help you out with parts or procedure yet.... If you do find something...such as procedure and parts numbers (oil filter, etc.), please share.
