iPhone connector

You would think that a dealer would know, but I called and asked if I could use my regular USB iPhone cord to connect to my 08 M3, bought used and only cord was USB on one end and then unidentifiable other end that is larger than the USB but nothing I have seen before, and they did not know. Can anyone tell me if they are running with the standard USB cord in the car. I tried it and it did not connect but I have read some issues about resetting the phone and trying again. Before I do that if someone could help this BMW Newlywed, dying to get to 1,200 miles, it would be great!

I do not know about the USB iPod adapter working with the iPhone or not, but I do know BMW makes an iPhone specific cradle, however, If I remember correctly, in the 08 cars it is phone only, and in the 09s, it is phone and music.

It really doesnt matter to me, I have never tried to plug the iPhone into the USB because I have a 160gb iPod plugged in that never leaves unless I take in inside to update the songs.

You need to get the Y cable ipod adapter cable from BMW. When using this in my 08 M3 both the bluetooth and ipod functions work without any problems that i have encountered so far. The part number for this cable is 61 12 0 440 812. Good Luck.
