Anybody else have door window rattles?

When driving at 50 mph+ the driver and passenger windows rattle a little bit, just enough to drive me NUTS. I'm going in for my 1200 next week, wanted to see if this is "common" or if its something unique with my car.

i know its a quality issue as if I gently hold either window down while driving the noise goes away. let go of the windows and the rattle starts again.

Ugh, BMW

I have a driver's side window rattle. Very minor, but very annoying. Stops when you open the window a smidge. Let us know if they can actually fix it. Mine is intermittent, though. I haven't complained about it, because I fear that they won't be able to put the door back together as well as the factory, which could exacerbate the problem.

Take it in. I've just spent 6 visits getting a nasty rattle fixed which was coming from the vent above the i-drive screen. Driving me crazy. Rattle free now .... well for now. I'm sure tomorrow will bring a fresh one. I blame the crappy I5 freeway in Seattle.

this is exactly my issue. sometimes i'll gently lean my elbow on the window to stop it or crack the window like you said.

Must be one of the things BMW saved money on to make it so cheap in the US. My windows are absolutely quiet up to 155mph.

same here.......will let it go for now for the very reason cited above ...but poor quality control in my view by BMW.....(but rather it be the window than transmission or engine issues frankly....)

Yesterday I got a rattle somewhere in the front of the car that is driving me f'n crazy. I can't tell where it's coming from, either. Sometimes it sounds like from the area near where the dash meets the windshield, other times the driver's A-pillar, other times from around the steering column. It's driving me nuts. I think maybe something like a leaf or a seed pod got past the cabin filter and is bouncing around inside the vents. If I don't figure out what it is i'm gonna lose my mind, I hate rattles.

I have this whistle too. Not exactly sure what it is because it happens in reverse as well. I think it is the engine, intake or something like that.

...i have found the one-touch may not close the window 100% ...they are all the way up but when I pull further one more time, I can feel the slightest of slide and the noise goes away....do not want my car tampered with now so will let it be until it becomes obvious..do not want dealer taking it for joy rides trying to test out and fix the noise //will put more miles on it and perhaps take in in a year...

I have the same. Inquired about it but then the SA said they have to test drive to hear the problem then take apart the whole door yada yad .... I said forget it.

I had this (or a very similar) problem. I did some research and found that I was not the first to own a BMW with rattling windows. BMWs have historically had problems with window rattlting - its actually the entire door rattling and is caused by the seals/flocking. In my case wax (from waxing the door jambs) worked its way into the seals/flocking and was causing the door seal to rattle against the seal on the door frame. Some have cured this by cleaning the seals and applying Gummi Pfledge. This didn't work in my case, so I took my car into the dealer (last week) and they were able to cure the problem (knocking on wood!). Do a Google search and you'll pull up a lot of information on this issue. Good Luck!!

Had this on my E46's, was the Window Regulator. There was an SIB back then for them if iirc. Same symptoms.
