So after 5 years, an M3 coupe with 10k a year at an MSRP of $75,000 will be worth $26,250? Ouch.

And why are the sedan residuals better?

would any of you lease or purchase at this point. At these rates, the purchase still more preferable.
What do you guys think?

Depends on your personal cost of capital and views on future market values of the M3.

We look at it this way. If you look at your driving history and you always have a monthly car payment, then leasing is probably the better option, especially if the rates are lower.

I enjoy the information presented LeaseCompare residual update threads. I'm curious about why the sedan residuals are slightly better as well.

Yikes I'm thinking of buying based on this scenario (also T = 5Yrs).

BMW took a bath due to a $373m charge for their leases' losses in 2Q, guess they are getting really antsy about resids.
