As with all Europeans, you need to be constantly reminded that you'd be speaking German now if it weren't for the "stupid" americans. So yes, we voted for Reagan (who was a damn good president) rather than a guy like Hitler (Europe's claim to fame). Does Belgium even have an Army? Who cares? Your country is meaningless to most of the world. YOu say America's greatest culinary achievement is McDonalds. What's Belgium's greates military achievement? Fastest to surrender and hide like a bunch of girls?

What does your country contribute to science/technology? Very little, and thats what counts. Thats why we are the superpower. And weak people (and nations) love to hate us. Who cares? You contribute nothing to the big picture. You have a seat on the UN out of charity but your voice is as important as a bug.

And although we bought a German car.. If anyone needs missles, fighterjets, technology, medicines, humanitarian aid, or any other innovation... .The first place to look is right here in the USA.

The europeans dont think like the belgium and the americans are not socialists. The foreign police from US has been supportive of governments very well known as repressive and corrupt all over world. Full support ever for US, but the time to be there is running out. Early this morning I got called because a veteran patient of mine passed away. He was in the US Army 101st Airborne division and dropped over Normandy. Surviving that, and advancing through France he then, like thousands of Americans, fought bravely in Belgium, where it was tough sledding against German forces. The French said they would never forget, when 10,000 Americans left their bodies on the beaches at Normandy.

Given the post from xit2050 it seems to me that this amnesia is contagious in Europe. I do care about how USA is viewed,and don't think that the sacrifices of one generation mean that the the world is supposed to sanction every move we make. Still, I think there should be at least a little respect coming out of Belgium. I have nothing negative to say about Belgium, and it would be silly for me to make such broad generalizations anyhow. I do like Jean Claude Van Damme. Most Americans do not respect Paris Hilton, but she is kinda hot, at least in the physical sense.

BTW, in the pinyin pronounciation (Mandarin transliteration) "X" is pronounced like "sh". Just a thought.
