The Pickens Plan

Has anyone seen commericals for this? I decided to visit his site and see what his energy "plan" was all about.

Its quite interesting and he brings about a good idea. However I don't its anything new, he just wants us to go in one direction and push forward full strength. Is that a bad thing? No I don't think so. At least he will make sure of the technology we already have now.

I remember seeing these Wind farms as I was flying over the deserts of the west and out on the coast of Jersey near Atlantic City.

What do you guys think of his plan?

I've sort of ignored his commercials (his voice annoys me) and very quickly (very) skimmed over his plan.

I think wind energy is a good idea. But I think the best plan for the future, and best from an economic standpoint is to give consumers a number of choices in what way they pay for energy. It will create good old fashioned competition, competitive pricing and (hopefully) not create a stressload on said energy (in theory). I know it's far more technical than that of course.

I just read today that Texas is now the largest wind energy state. Which I was fairly surprised at. I thought California would be way ahead there.

The lady that cuts my hair has a cousin that owns several hundred acres in west Texas. I don't remember the company, but they are being paid $5,000 per windmill per month to have these windmills on their property.
