The Pickens Plan
Has anyone seen commericals for this? I decided to visit his site and see what his energy "plan" was all about.
http://www.pickensplan.com/theplan/ Its quite interesting and he brings about a good idea. However I don't its anything new, he just wants us to go in one direction and push forward full strength. Is that a bad thing? No I don't think so. At least he will make sure of the technology we already have now. I remember seeing these Wind farms as I was flying over the deserts of the west and out on the coast of Jersey near Atlantic City. What do you guys think of his plan? |

I've sort of ignored his commercials (his voice annoys me) and very quickly (very) skimmed over his plan.
I think wind energy is a good idea. But I think the best plan for the future, and best from an economic standpoint is to give consumers a number of choices in what way they pay for energy. It will create good old fashioned competition, competitive pricing and (hopefully) not create a stressload on said energy (in theory). I know it's far more technical than that of course. I just read today that Texas is now the largest wind energy state. Which I was fairly surprised at. I thought California would be way ahead there. The lady that cuts my hair has a cousin that owns several hundred acres in west Texas. I don't remember the company, but they are being paid $5,000 per windmill per month to have these windmills on their property. |
