All M's except the M3 now have 0.9%APR- any chance the m3 will get this rate?

Saw the following offer for the M6, M5 and the Z4M- any chance the BMW will offer it on the M3?

*0.9% APR
2008 M5 Sedan Offer: 0.9% APR Financing now through 7/31/2008

Qualified customers only. Available at participating BMW centers through BMW Financial Services NA, LLC. Applies only to specific models and only for specific model years. 0.9% APR available through 7/31/2008. Subject to credit approval. See participating BMW center for details and vehicle availability.

* Be sure to ask your BMW center about adding Comfort Access and Satellite Radio at no cost.

I sure hope so. I would even consider cancelling my 2009 M3 order and buy a well equipped 2008 M3 Coupe.

this is sweet if you want an M6. I'd opt for a M5 but its pitiful range turned me off completely. That and it will be refreshed in 2010.

I agree that it is unlikely but would be a smart move from BMW if they really want to sell 100,000 M3's

With the new RS4 and RS5, IS-F, C63 AMG and the downturn in the economy, BMW needs to get more aggressive quick if they hope to come close to their sales targets.

IN addition to the above competition, the economy will make it hard for may to justify a car of the cost.

And to make things worse, their as some crazy deals out there.

The other day I test drove a Jaguar XKR coupe. All aluminum with a supercharger V8 putting out 420hp an more torque than the M3.
The car was ~$100K, and was offer it for $80K (it was new with less than 100miles on it)

I called a few dealers in my area since my car will be here in a few weeks and was asking them if the rates on M3's were on any sort of program, even if not the 0.9%. So far, no one has given me any indication that there are any promos for the M3. It really sucks that they don't do some slightly competitive (like 2.9 or 3.9%) given that every car except the M3 and 1 series appears to be part of the promotion. That and the fact that there are a decent number of M3's on most dealers' lots.

I got a range of stupid answers from the dealers I spoke with. One guy said the rates start at 6% "on up" which he thought was market. Another turd said "Ha, ha, the M3 ... we keep those on the other side of the lot." implying that they were super special or something.

Its only a matter of time before they are forced to become competive. Sooner or later they will become desparate. This whole high demand thing is a pure bluff from the dealers

When I told my CA the 6.2% finance rate BMW offered was terrible for the M3, he laughed & said I was too cheap to buy an M5. You can image how funny I thought that was!

I just read about the new 5-series. It's getting even bigger. Not good news for the next M5. Poor M engineers, and us M consumers, have to once again live with the additional weight tacked on by the larger chassis.

So what he's really saying is, it doesn't matter how much you pay in finance charges and trying to negotiate for a better rate means you're "cheap".

Seems if shopping around for the best rate is the smartest way of doing business, why throw money away, even if it's just a few bucks a month.

I'd tell him that he can pay for your "extra" finance charges out of his commission if he doesn't think it's a big deal.

Getting the best deal is just part of the game & challenge. Some people just don't want to play ...

Does anyone have any idea what the buy rate is from BMW FS (ie, the base rate at which BMW dealers can get credit before adding on their customary markups to generate extra money for their financing departments)? I am assuming top tier credit off course.

I have been offered 4.39% for 60 months, which seems like a pretty good deal, but since it is their opening offer, I also assume I can do better. Does anyone know how far I can go before getting the financing department in the red?

Any anecdotal evidence of a better rate would certainly be helpful, but any recent confirmation that the actual buy rate is "X" would be even better. My gut tells me it's somewhere in the 3's, but who really knows.

Thanks in advance. Still very much on the fence about taking my 08 sedan that arrived yesterday.

My Sales Manager thinks that by early next year if the economy is in the same position as it is now, you might see 0.9 on the M3. I talked with him about it the other day.

Stopped by the dealership today as I was curious about the .9% and a DCT M3 caught my eye. Took it on a test drive and I was sold. I was waiting for a facelift carrera S but don't really care about it so much anymore. Told them I would take it for .9% but they said they will not give .9% on the m3's, now or ever. No hurry to buy, they have plenty of M3's in stock and it is only a matter of time before they will start dealing (Shelly BMW).

I love it! Some Dealers are acting as if M3's are selling like hot-cakes. I like the car, but lets face it, it's basically "dressed-up 3 series". I'm actually thinking about canceling my 2009 M3 order and go for the 2009 Porsche Carrera-- more unique!

As a former Pcar owner ('04 C4S, '05 Carrera S "launch edition), I like my M3 better. Just my two cents.
