No fabric softener. Warm water is OK. Plain detergent is best. I bought some "microfiber detergent" from ChemicalGuys but I suspect my usual Persil would work just fine.

When you wash your MF towels do not wash it in the washer and dryer that you use your own clothing in!

I do not know if it true but I have been told to not wash them in the washer and dryer due to possible outcomes like the one you stated. I mean you are washing towels with wax, polish, autowash soap etc... there can be some residue left over in your washer. however, i reccommend if you do, to re run ur washer with HOT water and a detergent.

![]() I did it once, and there were some residue left in the washer, was lucky i saw it. I just wiped off the residue with a rag, and then rerun the washer again.
