1200 service is done...next?
When is the 2nd service done? I seemed to have misplaced my service and owners manual. Thanks! Everything is perfect (fast) but I have 2600 miles and want to make sure I do the next service right.

Whenever you start your engine, the miles remaining to next service will display in the center of the instrument panel for a few seconds.

Just Curious, does BMW use a special kind of Castrol Oil for the M engines? I mean some M even ordinary BMW cars would take more than a year before you go in to the next service. Wouldn't it better to have your oil change (service) every 6 mos at least to make sure you have cleaner oil OR just stick with the on board computer when it says time for service that is the time you go in regardless of years or miles driven?

Yes, "Condition Based Service". The E46 was pretty much based on fuel used, which roughly equated to how hard the car was used. Not sure what the parameters are with this car, but it will vary for different owners.

Considering that more wear will occur after the break-in service, I'm planning on doing an intermediate oil change between 4-6K. I'll feel more comfortable winding her out.
