Order Confirmations Questions/Problems

When I put my deposit down, I requested that I get an 09. However, my dealer just received additional allocations, and I now have the option of an 08. This means I will have the car 3-4 months quicker than if I wait for an 09.

The reason I initially waited for the 09 was the possibility of changes (idrive, etc). He confirmed to me that the 08/09 coupes will be 100% identical, and i-drive updates will not occur until atleast 2010.

Can anyone confirm this?

No one knows 100% but it seems likely. Other than the changes to the iDrive it's really not that big of an update. If you are impatient and don't mind this then get the 08, if you aren't leasing of course.

I doubt that you'll get an 09 this soon, I would think Spring 09. BMW AG doesnt follow the same production schedule like Mercedesr example. July they start 09 for Fall delivery of the C63 09 model. I know this bcoz I've asked both CAs

I just received the Vehicle Inquiry Report for my 09 order today and it has an option listed with code 615 and description "Online Information Services". This option was NOT listed on the VIR for my previous 08 order.

I can only think this is for the new iDrive changes. I don't know if it only encompasses the Google address sending function, the more comprehensive "online" programming of your car that was revealed by the patent filing that was recently made public, or both, but it definitely appears to be some combination of them. I would assume the 09 E92 and E93s will see the same changes.

I emailed my CA and attached your VIR, so hopefully I will get some explanations soon and make my decision whether or not to accept the 08
