Question Combox Retrofit Questions - post-Assist Sunset

I'm trying to decide what to do about my 2009 M3 - love the car, trying to hash out a few things regarding a combox retrofit and added functionality. This changes in the wake of the BMW Assist sunset, at least for resale.

In the past retrofit disabled Assist, which is no longer relevant. Unfortunately, BMW won't allow a customer to pay for the retrofit to their vehicle. My car already needs an I-level upgrade to update maps, so I figured if the Assist retrofit would basically be a newer Combox, it might add functionality to older cars PLUS require updated software - accomplishing all my goals at once. Regardless, I was told this won't be offered, so it becomes moot.

Shortly after getting the car I found the ViseeO Tune2Air WMA3000B device which allows Bluetooth streaming from my phone to the Y-cord. The neat part of this is that I get track information as if the phone was directly to the USB port in the armrest.

What I'm curious to know is what other added functionality does a retrofit bestow? I know A2DP streaming and album art. Does it do art over Bluetooth or only plugged in? Is it worth the hassle if the Tune2Air works well for me now? Is the audio quality better?

I'm also trying to figure out what I-level to bring my car to, and if I decide against the retrofit, I guess that means I should likely bring it current for the latest performance and bug fixes. Otherwise, if I go with the Combox I know that 2.41 / 2.42 is the latest that can be flashed before needing a 9C FSC code.

Thanks for any input!

-read texts via iDrive.
-internet (not in motion)
-album art
-video playback from iPhone (need apple TV out cable or BMW snap in adapter)
-connected drive

If I were you I would just put your money towards NBTevo retrofit and ditch the CIC.
Love it, clean it, maintain it and drive it like you stole it!
