Haha!! Yep, just about, but you have the HUGE benefit of allowing us to test all these things and you get to pick what´s best. So, there are benefits to waiting as well (as I am sure you know). I still however have not done the ECU since no reputable tuner has come up with one. Sort of waiting for Dinan or ACS. I know Dinan alone has a crew of 4 or 5 people working on electronics alone (in coordination with BMW), so, the stories that an ECU reflash is very difficult to increase hp is probably true. I of course don´t believe the stories of those that say they can get 30, 40 or even more hp out of just a reflash.

True! I get to have YOU test out all the crap first!

I also agree that 30-40 hp from a flash is not feasible. I suppose it COULD be, but I bet it would not bode well for the longevity of the motor and components! I am expecting maybe 20-25 from Dinan. BMW pushed the motor pretty good already...with the low frictions coatings, etc. etc. I doubt there will be a lot more room, at least safely! Guess we will just have to wait and see. It is a known fact that the ALMS M3 is about 485 hp (prolly a bit more). I am sure they did quite a bit of modification to the motor! Power like that would cost BIG bucks and internal mods to boot. Screw that! I want my warranty!

I am even doubting I will reflash my car....you run the risk of a serious warranty issue. Trust me, if you have a motor or tranny problem, it aint gonna be cheap! This M is no 318i! lol. If anything, I will prolly wait for Conforti's "Shark Injector". Something that is easily "removable" and "undectable", but also something that will be designed within the safe limits of the car.

Hell, I still have months to wait before I get that far into it. I plan to do a couple simple things, mostly cosmetic, and just enjoy the ride for quite a while!

We see eye-to-eye on these issues, I as well expect around 20bhp from the reflash. Now, when I first got the M3, I said I was going to do nothing to the car (especially since I have other very tunned cars), then I did the wheels and well, had to do the springs. Then I did the exhaust that does improve sound by a lot. Then, I thought the car felt a bit slow especially on long straights and did not like 911S´s hanging around so close, so maybe just a bit more power, then come the brakes, etc…, etc…, etc… So that´s sometimes how it goes.

Anyways, good luck with your car, when are you getting it and what did you order?

Hi AA, Great Exhaust! Is there any info on Headers, Mid Pipes & Catts?? One of the First

Also Will AA do Forced Induction on the E92 M3? If so are you guys working on anything?
Supercharge? Turbo? Any info available that you can share with us would be great! Very Interested!

Thank you

Well, I don't know about the e9x M3 but my CA told me the dealership just got in new equipment that can detect/trace when a 135i/335i has been either reflashed or removed, etc. Safe limit or not I don't think BMW wants anybody to modify their ecu (DME). Although, I might be down if it was a 30-40 hp gain (which I doubt).

haha. I am the same way. I really really had to control myself with the GT3. I did next to nothing to it, just a few small things. It is already fairly tracked out in stock form, so it wasn't TOO hard. With the M, that is another story...I will try to maintain, but I dunno.

As for the M, I ordered an E90 with DCT, SSII with Black Nov and Alum trim. Tech pack, Enchanced sound, 19's, Ipod, Shades, and Fold down seats. I would like the universal remote and folding mirrors, but didn't wanna pop the extra cash for the Premium Package. I can live without it, or retrofit later. More fun that way too!

Well, trust me when I say this, If anybody can make it undectable, Jim can. If he says it will be undetectable, it will be. He is really good at what he does and I doubt anybody knows the programming and DME architecture as well as he does...sans maybe a couple of the originial engineeres that designed it.

We will have to wait and see what he comes out with....he has had the DME for quite a while now, so from what I read, he is just waiting until he gets past break-in to dyno tune his M3. Shouldn't be too much monger before he does it and we start seeing some results and info on the release date.

I want to see how much it weighs as well.

As of right now, it seems like all the stainless steel exhausts are only giving a 5lb weight reduction from stock. I wanted something like the RE El Diablo on my e46 where the stainless steel version reduces about 20lbs.

I was just telling you what my CA told me. That would be great if his s/w is really undetectable. I guess we'll find out eventually.

Hey Omar. It's Anthony. The clip for the E90 exhaust is awesome. Looking forward to getting it on my car. Hit me up with a price and perhaps some dyno numbers. Very interested.

I have modified my ECU already and my local BMW dealer contact confirmed it is undetectable. What I got is a rev limiter increase to conform with higher quality fuel etc... top speed delimited, timing changed, etc... etc... together with the exhuast and ram air intake the dyno yield was 38 more hp and tad more in torque. Whatever the case, the car does feel leaner and faster.

NICE! 38 hp is pretty damn good! Still more potential I bet.

I don't equate "higher quality fuel" and Mexico. lol. What fuel are you running? I thought the fuel down there was no bueno. Am I wrong?

One more thing I thought of.....

the ram air intake may yield you a bit on the dyno, but it should really shine at speed....when it is actually providing a ram effect! Too bad we can't get "in the field" measurements to see what the ram air does when "working" at speed. That would be cool. I bet when you are at speed, your HP increase is more than 38.
