335i vs C63 AMG

Ok.. so here's the disclaimer.. don't street race.. blah blah blah.. I don't condone it... blah blah blah.... I know it's dangerous.. yada yada yada...

Anyway, on to the story lol... was coming home from class last night.. on Dulles Tollroad of all places in Virginia for those of you that are in the area... roads were clear... less a couple cars in the distance...pulled up on a new white C63 AMG.. temp tags.. first one I've seen as of yet.... just wanted to get close enough to take a look... and as I got next to the guy.. he took off maybe 5 or 6 car lengths in front of me and then hit the brakes to wait for me... got next to him.. and he started blipping the throttle at me.. so i figured why not.. I'll have some fun w/ the guy.. especially since I was curious to see how quick this thing was....

My JB2X is set to 50%... racemap was off... also sitting on lightweight 19 inch RGRs.. and General UHPs...

So we take off.. and we are DEAD EVEN from the top of third gear all the way through 4th... once I hit 5th (and at this point we were definitely over 100.. is when he started pulling away...

Pulled up next to the guy and he smiled and gave me a thumbs up...

Really? I thought with the C63 you just mash the pedal and it kills anything out there below $100k.

good run! with race gas and 75% could have pulled till 110mph and then benz's r geared better for that high up top. could have caught up and pulled u a lil

i would expect that car to pull at high speeds... i'm happy w/ the outcome nonetheless...

would love to have the same encounter once my DPs go on..and I run JBX @ 100 w/ the Race Switch turned on lol

Nice run!

... the 6.2L AMG V8s are known to be underpowered in the first few thousand miles (it's a relative dog during break-in).
Once it's properly run in, it unleashes fury unmatched by most cars..heh

Edit: the guy's a toolbag if he's racing the car while still in break-in period.

Why is he a toolbag? It's his car, he can do what the hell he wants with it. Once you make the payment on it, feel free to bitch about what he does with it.

Nice run. That just shows you anything can happen on the street. The C63 is a 115-116MPH car in the 1/4 mile. He probaly has about 6 or 7 MPH on you. That is huge at the top end.

Agreed. He would definitely pull on you after break in. I'm wondering if he knows what he was doing...

Well I'll have to try again once my DPs go on and I can run my JBX @ 100% w/ the racemap on

You might have a chance after all that. You should have about the same trap speed as a stock C63. But again once you go above 130+ MPH he will put a few cars on you. That's if you guys will run that high. Just race him to 120MPH you should do fine.
