How soon would you condition/protect your leather?
Are you guys applying leather conditioners and protectors to your brand new cars or are you waiting for a while? I'm inclined to do it, but I don't want my new car scent to be masked. Haha.

I was wondering this myself. GriotsGarage.com says yes...when it's new...in order to condition and protect and make it last longer. But then again...they're in business to sell product.

Ya I did some searching and the general consensus seemed like asap. I guess I'll order some Chemical Guys leather conditioner/cleaner or Zaino Z9/Z10.

The pro detailer I had do the car recommends putting it on immediately, only a $10 charge from them so not like he was making alot of money on the application. He stated he puts it on immediately when he gets a new car.
I found it did not mask the new car smell. ![]()

Perfection Is In The Details

Hey guys! I would clean and condition my leather ASAP. With new leather I would stick with CG Leather Cleaner and CG Leather Conditioner. CG leather products are designed to bring out the smell of you leather and not create a smell of their own. It also makes the smell of your leather even more potent, therefore you even get more of you "new car" smell.
When you first put apply the CG Leather products it smells like CG. But give it 12 hours and it makes the smell of your natural leather even more potent. My car has 37,000 miles and it still smells like new. CG is #2 as far as leather stuff in my book, but #1 for value. Leather Master Trio is the best, but very expensive. If price does not matter than go with Leather Master. You can order it from DetailersDoman.com and type FMINUS in the discount code for a 10% discount. If you ever have any questions regarding detailing products give me a PM. Also if you plan to order from CG call and ask for Paul. Tell him I (Jared) sent you and he will give you a discount.

I would like to buy one expensive leather care product, one cheap one (both quality obviously). One cleaner, one conditioner. Would you buy the expensive leatherique conditioner or cleaner. The other product will be a Zaino one(cheap but good) To be honest the car is so new, the leather hardly needs cleaning, probably more protection and shine. I'm thinking- expensive conditioner! What do you think?
