Exclamation 2009 M3 sedan (E90) to get tailight facelift & space gray color

These photos confirm that the 2009/2010 Sedan should receive the same tail light facelift as the regular E90 3-series sedan (latest spyshots here -- http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141911).

These photos also confirm that next year's M3 sedan will receive at least one new color -- Space Gray (as offered currently on the coupe version only).

A photoshop (below) by a M3post member is perhaps a close approximation of what the redesigned tail lights will resemble on the facelifted M3 sedan.

g'dammit, I like it, but not enough of a change for me to make it worth waiting for.

SG looks great as usual.

What is the confusion?

The regular sedans are getting a face lift, so is the M3 Sedan...

Ugh. I'm torn. I probably only have this week to make the decision on whether to wait or not before my order goes 112 (currently scheduled for week 24 - 6/8/08 build).

I'm not particularly worried about Space Grey (love the color, but I think I'll stick with the M exclusive SSII) but the revised tailights being confirmed is tempting to wait for. I wonder how much it will cost to retrofit the new trunk and taillights to an '08 vs the cost increases likely on an '09 (my order was locked in at the original '08 prices before the '08 price increases, let alone the likely '09 price increases).

Hmm....

Are these LED tail lights?

For the E46 M3, the switched to LED tail lights when it was "face lifted".

^ on the exterior, it looks like only the taillights will change, but with every "face-lift" they also make revisions to the interior, I would wait, but thats just me...

I believe they did quite a bit of work on the e60 interior from pre-face lift to face lift, I wouldn't be surprised to see quite a few changes on the interiors of the face lifted e90 as well...

Of course. I remember how burned I felt when I bought the "all new" 2006 330i only to see that 330 designation last one frikkin year. Never trust what kind of a screwin BMW is willing to put you through. I love BMW's but their model changes leave many holding the bag so to speak. I will stop there though I would love to rant. I warned many to not even think of purchasing the 2008 M3 sedan, but few listened.

I wonder it they are testing some thing else, why take a M3 and camo out the taillights and test them, they are going to be the same as the non-m anyways.

Because they are NOT GM? Why test all engine models if its just the cars are just receiving different taillights? We've seen just about every engine choice in the non-M3 sedans running around with camo'd fronts and rears, I don't see why this would be any different. Well, except, obviously, the front is not changing. Also, as I stated earlier, there are more than likely interior changes that they need to make sure are all ok. I'm sure there are lots of Interior bits that are very specific/special to the M3 sedan, as in, they are not in the lower model sedans (anthracite headliner, etc, etc, etc). Maybe see'ing this high-end model out and about constitutes a LARGE interior change, I hope so, not that there is anything wrong wit the current, but there is always room for improvement...

I don't think anyone should hold off purchasing b/c some facelifted tail lights, this car is to fun to drive to worry about that plus who cares they are just tail lights its not like its a 50hp or something like that...
