Maybe after enough beers, I'll seem like a nicer guy and you'll overcome your state of denial.

I think the only MB I would consider is a CL AMG. Even then, I don't think I like the styling that much. Maybe it will evolve. BMW doesn't really have anything on that level. 6 series is not it. If they brought the 8 series back or actually made the CS concept then maybe.

Wow.
I am 49. My 52 year old wife just bought her "newest" BWM last month. A 1974 tii. Now here is the question--does BMW of North America want to sell me anything else? Or will BMW of North American continue to be a brand for study hall kids of the 90210 click? Yep, us old folks are waiting. 118d 130i 520d |

I am older, 55 and on my 13th BMW. No way on a MB maybe on an Audi but that would only be to get better gas milage. BMW needs to start bringing in some 4 cylinder cars
that get better gas milage. Have a E93 335 and X3 and when the X3 lease runs out in Oct 09 will only consider something with about 20 miles per gallon city driving. My E93 gets about 20 around town. |

I bought my first BMW at age 50. If later in life I have the cash and want a larger more luxurious car I'll probably look at Jaguar, Audi, Mercedes, BMW and possibly Maserati if finances allow. I'll likely end up with whichever is sportiest.
Thanks, Mike. |

Audis and Benzes are good cars, but they just dont drive as well as a bimmer. The only Benz I would ever consider is an SL55 AMG. My Uncle just got one a few months back. Its amazing. Thats the only MB I like. AS for Audi, had one. Would never get another one. For now, Im sticking with the ultimate driving machine. When I get older, I could see myself getting an AMG or Porsche

I voted No because I hope to jump ship to a porsche when I can afford it.

Yeah, MT's will go bye bye eventually. Plus I doubt I'll want to be shifting all the time when I'm in my 50's anyway.

Nothing wrong with Audi. Thats what I had before the bimmer, and I would def go back at some point. Great cars. Their higher class cars are more appealing than Bimmers higher class cars. For example an A/S8 v 750i.
For now, the e90 is great and exciting to drive. As for Benz, would love to try a CLS or AMG in the future.

The way I see it, BMW markets their cars to the younger crowds while Audi and MB go towards the older crowds, even the A5 looks too comfortable to be a sports car. The CLS, same thing. I may go for a 5er, in 3 years. But I may just go for the next Gen A6 or E350

For those that have driven Audi's and Mercs name some differences you see in the two cars. Why did you choose BMW?

Already did that. Went from my previous E46 coupe to an 05' C-class sport sedan and counted the days down until my lease was up. Back to BMW and here to stay
