Front License Plate

What are the laws in this area regarding front license plates and what do you guys plan to do about getting it or not.

It is also MD state law requiring a front plate, but with that known I don't plan to put mine on. If I do get pulled over I will reconsider.

No front plate for me. I don't care if I get fined 3 times in one year. I'll pay it. The M's front bumper is not made for a front plate.

I went for 4 years and only 3 tickets on my 01 M5 before installing the front plate when I switched to the BMWCCA club plates. Picked up the M3 last night with the front plate in the trunk where it belongs.........

I did not have them put it on my car. Can not stand drilling holes in my bumper. I leave the plate in the car between the seat, and whenever I am parking in a place where I know the meter maids come through I put it up on the dashboard.

I only received one ticket in the two years I owned my Porsche CaymanS. And this was before I kept it on the dash. It was downtown in DC parked in front of a friends house. But also received a parking ticket too, was the only reason they noticed.

Places to worry are when you are parked on city streets or city or county owned parking lots. You can not be fined if you are parked on private property.

When I was pulled over in my Porsche(twice), they never noticed.... having approached my car from the back.

I have been pulled over twice so far, both times let off, but both times they checked the front of the car.

on my e46 330 i recently had the bumper repainted and i fill the holes and now id ont have a front plate. the car looks MUCH better. and my e93 M3 will be the same - it just looks sooooooo much better.

If i get 1 or 2 tickets per year, thats fine. its worth it - i call it a "Maintenance Fee"

I don't have it on now, bs on the law tho. Each state will save so much if they were only require to print out 1 plate only instead of 2.

what bothers me...is in Canada.
The ONLY province that requires a front plate is ONTARIO.

Quebec does not
British Columbia does not
Halifax does not
etc....etc....

So I say fuck that... a buddy of mine picked up a Gallardo Spider and it had no front place coz it was from BC, and the dealer asked if they should put one to make it legal in Ontario. He said, HELL NO....if he sells the car to someone outside of Ontario, chances are they wont need a front plate and then he will have those 2 holes for nothing.

No i didnt, because they were Md temp tags and I am a Va resident. Apparently, they were confused by the car registration saying one address and my license saying another.

I still have temp tag but am dreading putting on the front plate in Chicago. Cops like to pull "us" over. I have until August but hate to ruin the lines in the front nose. I like to go out to dinner and drinks and don't need an easy reason for a cop to pull me over.

I suggest a "temporary" mount for vulnerable occasions (velcro, tow hook, etc.).

I like your idea greg a temporary tow hook mount I think a vendor needs to come out with a plate holder that screws into that tow hook location
