In the duel between Z370 vs M3, my money still stands with the Beemer, it's a class act and like it or not it is a closer competitor to the GTR then Nissan will admit. Unless the Z gains the big brother's gearbox and some of it's trickery I can't see it competing with the M3..............more likely the Z4M is it's true rival.

I have a Z4m, and if Nissan actually comes out with this setup I'm certain that I'll be getting smoked by Nissans left and right - which is a shame. In which case I'll get rid of it for a C63 or something like that...

Will be pretty interesting to see how Porsche does that without damaging the 911. I think an insane price of the Cayman TT is a safe bet...

Best regards, south

wow 3000 pounds and 350hp?? that is insane!

about the Cayman TT concept..I just wanted to contribute the fact that not every 911 owner cares 100% about performance. I think it has to do with personal preference too. When sitting in a Cayman vs a 911, the size difference is there and some people my not like the much smaller space in the cayman.

My dad was considering a 997 turbo at a point and maybe even 5 years from now, im sure he will still choose the 997 turbo over a cayman turbo because of the size.

why is this being compared? 370z is probably going to be around half the price of an m3. Hopefully they make a nismo version of it again.

I didn't buy it for straight line speed or the track. I bought it because I'm one of the few that loves the style of the car. However, the car is pretty fast in simple drag races, low 13's aren't too shabby...

The car is however my daily driver, and my next car will definitely be something bigger, smoother, and just a great "all-around" performer - which unfortunately for BMW, my opinion is that the C63 is the best buy in the segment as of right now... like I said this is just my opinion.

Considering I don't even track my m coupe - I doubt I'll track a sedan, so I'd rather have the car that will be more satisfying in my daily commute.

911 GT2 is 3175 lbs. GT3 = 3100 lbs. This is the result of very EXPENSIVE weight savings including titanium exhaust system, ceramic brake rotors etc.. I'm pretty sure the new z will be in excess of 3500lbs, 3100 lbs = a typo.

911 has a lsd? I thought it was on electric diff.??????

And I think that was a huge Typo in that mag........no way the 370z is anwhere near 3100lbs. The current car is what 3500-3600lbs?

Shedding 500 lbs off in a year time come on man.

Plus what up their asses with those funky headlamps? Its on the new Maxxima Pad too.

Yeah - I am worried about getting smoked by new Z's too, if they are 3000lbs. More HP, more Tq, less weight and probably equiv gearing. Of course, the handling and braking is left to be seen and the looks are far worse IMO. If it puts down as much as the G37, the whp should be on par with a Z4M (285-295whp). FTR - Z4M's have hit high 12's easily, stock.

Who cares? Every car, with the exception of the Veyron, will get smoked by another car one way or another. BMW's are a good blend of luxury and performance. You can't have it all but you will have something that very few others will.
