Speaking of Z4 M, I really wanted to ask this. Anyone know if M roadster will be available with SMG transmission? (any previous M roadster geeks?)

No. It´s been announced that the Z4M as Coupe and as Roadster will be manual only. No SMG availble. Not now, not later.

Also the regular Z4 (non-M) as Roadster and Coupe will loose the SMG option as well. Only MT or slush. Though the slush will have optional steering wheel paddles.

Looks like BMW is killing SMG for good in preparation of ZSG. And good for them. ZSG / DSG IS the future. Long term it´ll be the only gearbox anyone will ever need. It´s better than SMG, better than slush and better than MT.

Read what Robert Farrago has to say on the subject. I agree with him wholeheartedly even though I loved SMG in my previous car and am currently enjoying the old fashioned 3pedal dance in my E90.
