I guess I am used to the SSK's of my 325i and STi....going back and forth from the different vehicles makes the M3 feel far too long.

I LOVE it, its incredible - sounds perfect!! I have race, so its a bit louder and theres very minimal drone at low RPM's. Doesn't bother me one bit.
If your worried about loudness/drone then go with Sport and you won't be dissapointed.

As for lowering, honestly I didn't feel such a difference . I mean the difference is there, but in no way is it a bad different! I didn't do coilovers because of EDC aswell, but Im amazed with how well the H&R Springs ride!
BTW, how old are ya?
nice. ur getting me excited about this. 26

there's always room for improvement. those who had ssk's before feel they need it more i guess

I would never have bothered with one, as I have always felt that if it was better than what's in the car they would have just used that from the factory. However, my buddy had an e46 M3 and I drove the car before and after. All I can say is wow what a difference. It makes the car feel like it went from a sports car to a race car.

Well to be honest, how pissed would you have been if BMW told you that you had to wait another 6 months to get your car because we are trying to reduce the shifter throw by 30%? You would say give me the car now, and let me worry about the shifter throw. BTW, I completely agree with you.

well they already designed one. design it well instead of 1/2 assing it. the other thing is they can add more resources to design it. AND im *hoping* they got some experience doing this, i hope they know what they're doing so it shouldnt take them as long as it takes tuners to do it. plus their budget is infinitely bigger than tuners' budgets.

germans are so spoiled, they need to work over time and weekends and get my SSK right

Oh, I forgot, no German would work over time ever. Any other stereotypes you'd like to share?

Haha, the best is that we are in August too. So guess where the BMW workers are, let me give you a hint: not in the factory.

I like the OEM shift knob better than any aftermarket knob that I've seen.
