i actually like the current iteration a LOT more. this just looks like another accord/camry look-alike.

European Vs US model

- European model has better front.
- US model has better rear.
- The whole Mazda 6 design is overall BLAND. The headights, grille, bumper all just seem to sit into nice positions. Nothing flows into eachother. It's just a very calculated design with lack of emotion. It even resembles the IS in real-life from the front. Very strange. Infact, it's a summary of modern car designs...BLANDNESS!

Well, so much for hoping that the looks would improve. This looks to be exactly the same as that spy pic I posted a couple months ago. I'm tired of the US market being screwed out of better designs and being given cars that meet a lower standard.

Hks, yeah, it's pretty damn calculated. Although, I wouldn't go so far as to say that the US version is better looking from the rear. While the exhaust tips are nice, the Euro version doesn't have the license plate cut it or the overly-red taillights.

It's merely adequate at best. Hopefully the next Mazda3 looks better.

"What do you think guys?".

"Needs more fender flare. Yeah, we've got to have lots of fender flare"

Well the grille kills the front. It's very underdeveloped. The foglamp housing could have also been designed to work with the headlights in a better fashion. The rear is a bit fussy and could use some tweaking before I'd give it a passing grade. The overall product is one I find indifference to.

the original 03-05, before the facelift, always looked the best to me. i'm glad i got it then instead of waiting.

still, i would give the new model a chance. i'm a fan of mazda for their styling (in general), their driving characteristics and their affordability.

I had an 03 and liked it much better than this. + a lot on a Camry clone.

There seems to be a trend that everyone is diluting design again. It's the 80s all over again.

I would have mistaken it for an Accord.

Imho it looks better (balanced, sporty and classy) than the new Camry and Accord sedans (and the new *gasp* Maxima). The design is not as bland as people say, I like the complex detailing of the fender flares. Very nice.
