Will these tires fit? 255/30/20 F and 275/30/20 R

I just placed an order and put a deposit down for an AW E92 with fox red interior so this is my first post!

I plan on switching to 20" HRE aftermarket rims once the car is delivered. I was thinking about 20x9 in the front and 20x10 in the rear.

I live in the NJ/NY area so I need to put on all-season tires. Unfortunately, the tire sizes available for all-season tires are much more limited than summer tires. I am leaning towards Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires in 255/30/20 F and 275/30/20 R. Will these tires fit and will there be any rubbing issues? I used a tire calculator and it seems that the total diameter of the 20" wheels are only slightly larger than the OEM 18" wheels.

dude, just put some winters on your 18"s and then put some sweet pirelli's on your 20"s....easy!

Yeah, I was definitely thinking about that, but I want to sell my OEM 18s and put the proceeds towards new rims and not have to deal with swapping wheels every winter (live in an apartment).

pirelli is a great tire....but doesn't last.

255 in the front may be an issue, but 275 is way within the limits, you can go as much as 305 in the M3 (mine are 295 and no problem at all). PS2s by the way are the best tire, I've had the Pierelli Nero, Dunlop Sport Max and Conti's, PS2 are the one's I like best.

Depends highly on the wheel offset. Agree w/ Big Windy on the dedicated Winter tires.

i can see how that might be cumbersome to have to change...however, i lived in NY for 4 years and know that, while the winter sucks, it is only about 4 months of the year. so, for those other 8 months, i think that you will be bummed to have to settle for A/S tires when you can get a much better ride, feel, and performance from the PS2s or another good tire. In germany I lived in a small place and i stacked my winter's on top of each other in a closet...maybe you can make space. or maybe you are set on getting 20"s with A/S....its obviously your decision. in that case, i couldn't tell you if it would work out or not though. 20" is awful big though.

What would be the ideal wheel width for 20s? 20x9 F and 20x10 R? I am pretty much set on the HRE 841r's so they will be custom made to the M3 in terms of offset and lip size. What do you guys think is the max lip in the front and rear?

I drive a G35 coupe now dropped on Tein Basics and I did the whole swapping tires in the winter, but I hated the look of the stock 18s with the drop so I had to purchase some spacers. I don't really want to put spacers on the M3 and don't really like the look of the M3 18s, so I think I'm going to stick with all-season tires.

20x8.5 f and 20x10 is fine for 275 rear tire. The 841r is not a deep lip design so its depth will not vary much with wider wheels. 841r is a very clean wheel I think with no bolts etc... I like that. Nice! If you want a deep dish you probably should go with the 891r that is a deeper dish by design but altogether the same wheel as the 841r. The lip depth etc... will be determined for your vehilce and tire size by HRE.

Just make sure the 255 is good for the front.

Congrats on the order. Just remember all season tires are a compromise for all seasons. Not good at anything, not good dry traction, average wet traction, and marginal snow traction.

It'd be almost cheaper to buy a $4000 AWD Subaru to drive in the winter and keep your M out of the salt and grime of the winter roads. Wheels and tires will almost cost that much.
