Done with first service yet?

Hey, I am still waiting on the oil filters for my car. Did anyone in the US finish up with their service? Especially those waiting for the filters to arrive. My dealer said that there is a chance of them coming by tomorrow. Anyone have an update.

The ventilation microfilter is not scheduled to be changed until the first regular service. 1,200 mile calls for engine oil + filter, transmission oil, diff oil & air cleaner.

I just called the dealer I plan to go to for service on Monday to check if they have everything - i.e. the oil filter and fuel system air filter. He said they have everything, but that the air filter did not need to be changed. I told him that it says in the manual that it needs to be changed and he said that if it needs to be changed, they have it. Now I'm concerned that they will miss changing the air filter and I have no idea how I can check that they did change it....

I don't understand why the air filter would need to be replaced. Certainly break-in conditions do not cause it to get dirty, and it's normally a ~15k service item. That may well be a mistake in the owner's service manual.

If you car, you can always make a mark on your existing one and check it after service to verify if it's been changed, but I wouldn't insist on it, myself.
