As for mods, forget it! One of the beautiful things about the M3 is that it is fabulous out of the box. I don't care to experiment with mods - they are most are likely to hurt the car. I have enormous respect for the BMW engineers, and I sincerely doubt that I or others around me could make the car better.

Another feature is that with the Power and EDC buttons, it has multiple personalities. The car can be toned down to make my wife happy (softer than my previous E36 M3), and with the push of a button turned back into a beast for me!

The only thing I wish I had done differently, so far, is the to have ordered the premium audio. Everything about this car is so fabulous that the regular audio seems ho-hum by comparion. It doesn't seem to be any better than in my previous '97 M3. When I ordered the car, I convinced myself that I didn't care about the audio, but in retrospect I think I should have gotten the premium audio.

Yes my friend, the M3 is a great car right out of the box and if I weren't so picky I probably would leave it as is. I totally agree with the wife part as well, hahahaha!!!! Great to see you are very pleased (as am I)!! Enjoy the car. The premium sound is pretty good by the way!!!

No I didn't. I have 2 kids in the back of the car in kids seats. They are constantly kicking the back of the front seats. With extended leather, they would be damaging the back of the seats. So non-extended leather is very practical for me.

I also happen to like the mix of leather and non-leather on the doors and center console, so I don't regret this choice.

Well, one mod you might consider is to hardwire that V1. Also get a clear-bra or similar for the front bumper, lights, hood and side view mirrors. And window tint. That just about does it though.

Some people call these mods. Some don't.
