How old are you and how many years of driving experience if you don't mind me asking. That seems like a pretty darn good rate.

E90 - the Ultimate family hauler
|
Wow!!! These are some crazy insurance bill numbers I'm seeing posted. I picked up my E90 at the end of October and replaced 02 my E46 ///M and my insurance bill actually went down.
I was paying a little under $1,100 per year with the E46, and my new price for the E90 is just under $900 for the year. I'm 36, 20 years driving with a (mostly) clean record. I guess the area you live in makes a big difference - hurray east coast!!

M3 vs S5
When I had my Audi S5, I was paying ~$1400/year. I was relatively surprised, my insurance agent stated that since they had no details on the car at that point (March 2008), they're going with an S4 spec. My premiums went up to about $1600/yr when I moved to the E90 M3 late year. So not a major difference.. this is with a $1,000 deductible collision/comprehensive.
All in all, not too bad.. gas costs more quite easily.. that's a cost I can justify. |

My insurance also went down when I traded in my 2002 325 ic. No complaints.

Location in the city does make a huge diffence. I had a friend move from Lawrence area to King West (Liberty Village) and his insurance increased $400 on a Mazda 3. I guess that area is too close to Parkdale and King/Dufferin for vandalism and comprehensive rates.

just got an insurance estimate for my upcoming e92 m3 coupe from meloche monnex...
$2250/yr with $1000 colls. and $5000 comprh. deductibles with $2mil liability. I think this is high but then again I am in downtown TO and 28. I like their 5 year no depreciation program though...if the car gets written off, they will buy another brand new m3 and give it to me, or so they say. |
