Hey M3 Lovers,

I just picked up my M3 over the weekend and she's finally home. Woke up Saturday around 5am and drove to Louisana to pick her up. The dealer I dealt with was excellent in customer service and the entire process was smooth without pain(except writing the check hahaha). Took the drive back from LA to Houston after lunch and she is AWESOME !!! Very difficult to explain how the M3 drives and handles other then living the expericence. You definitely have to keep you eye on the speed as the M is eager to come alive without any notice. Clutch and gears are easy to go through ..very effortless and road noise is at a bare minimum even with the 35 series tires. Engine does come alive when you step on the accelerator but have to wait till the 1200 mile braking period to go above the 5500 rpm point and really feel it come alive.

Anyone else recieve their M yet? Would be good to have a meet in the Houston area. Also anyone know of a local M3 club to join? Will post pix soon.

My M: Coupe, Jet Blk/Blk, Carbon Leather trim, Tech Pkg, Premium Pkg, 19's, Premium Sound, Moonroof, Satellite Radio, Heated Seats

Grats on your new ride! Looks like you may be the first Jet Black Coupe? Sedan? in Houston. Would love to see some pictures!! There are a few of us in H-Town who either recently got our cars or anticipating pretty soon. We have been talking about getting together to check out one anothers cars and take some photos.

Big congrats! I don't even have a production # for mine yet (no allocations in Houston) so I'm estimating no car until June. But it'd be cool to get a Houston get together for it.

Very nice! Did they make you install a front plate?

No front plate installed but they did give me the brackets and mentioned they would have to drill through the bumper to install it ... OUCH. I'm just worried about the Cops in Htown potentially giving tickets for not having it ... I've seen a few other BMW's on the road here in town that didn't have a front plate

I got two tickets last year for no front plate. David Sprecher & Associates got the tickets dismissed but at the cost of around $150 each. I know for a fact the license plate frame violation has been removed in Texas as of past November and word has it that the front plate law is under review for removal. I really don't want to drill my bumper....

Yeah, I emailed Ken and told them not to put it in mine. I have a sick ND license plate though that would look dirty on front of the white.

I've only dealt with BMW of Houston North and BMW Woodlands (they are the same owners). They have no allocations available. I'm #9 on the coupe list and they've had 6 allocations overall. That means I'm #3 on the list of people waiting for allocations.
Timsev confirmed in another thread that what they are telling me is true, he sees no allocations in Houston. *shrug*
I've been telling myself I should call around the country but just haven't had the time. I want DCT so I can't go with any launch cars. My original expected date was late April-early May and now they are telling me June. If it goes past June I'll just cancel and get a 2009 or maybe a different car altogether.

Man i wish i could live back in Houston, After graduating from UT Austin i moved up here to Seattle for work. The house prices are killing me car game! I'll get the E92 sooner or later.
