Will only get a limited time with an M3 at the PC when you get the car delivered there. Still will be fun and the PC is a great experience. I took the 2 day M school there last year.

I was told you only get 2 hours on the track with the performance center delivery. However I don't beleive you get to do any high performance driving. Rick's M school is expensive. I think a much much better bargain is at one of many BMW CCA driver's schools, held all over the nation. Check it out at BMWCCA.org.

I opted for PC delivery, the major con is that they are fully booked and you have to wait for a session to open up. My car is being shipped there and news is that april is closed for any sessions and the only ones open begin in may. For the experience it is priceless!

Hey I figured if I have waited this long one more month of waiting and the experience of the M school is well worth it. Yes it is painful to see others driving there cars already. |

M5/M6 have a 2day class thats built into the price of the car, which the 1st owner of the car has up to 1yr to redeem from point of purchase and they could bring one guest and they both get equal amount of time on the track, if you go by yourself you won't get more time.

The two day class isn't free for M3 owners, I think it's more than $2K. I looked into this before I made my order.

I thought about this but couldn't justify a month wait- a few hours on the track isn't going to do anything but whet your appetite.

My suggestion is to take your car to a BMW CCA driver's school for about $400 +/- for an entire weekend of track time with knowledgeable instructors and other drivers who also enjoy tracking their cars. It's much more cost effective in my book.
Unless you sign up for the 2-day PC M school at your own expense, you don't get much track time with the PC delivery. I'm sure the 2 day school is fun, however it's pricey.

Having done the PC delivery with my e46 M3, I can say for certain that you do not get any track driving experience. What you get is a 2 to 3 hour car control clinic (slalom runs, accident avoidence, braking and skid pad runs). At no time was I ever on the race track. But the experience to do a PC delivery at least once was definitely worth it. Next time, I'm doing european delivery and break it in while I drive over to "the ring".
If you want to do a race track experince, then save your money and go to any one of the BMWCCA driving schools. |
