Seems like it would be a handful and extremely fun to drive, as Clarkson described it as, "An axe murderer with headlights."

The exterior of each car appeals to me, but when comapring the C63 and M3 sedan, my vote goes toward the C63 for the more dramatic styling. Also, with the black birdseye maple trim in the Mercedes, the interior (with the non-dual hump dash) of the C63 appeals to me more as well.

The M3 would be the better street/track hybrid car because of the handling and lower overall weight. However, I doubt the M3's ability as strictly a track car when leaving it with its stock configuration. Upgraded brakes seem to be a must, according to recent reviews.

I agree with you, since I'm not planning to take it to the track twice or three times a month, this car will be my daily drive car, I like the new C63 exterior and interior design, the M3 has some minor difference in the interior as my 335.
Everyone has some good points here, but I think that MB nailed the design and the HP this time.

Oh, did I mention that all major reviewers have declared the M3 the winner over the C63? Yeah...might've left that out

Seriously though, to each his own. I just feel like for the price, I want an interior that matches the awesome exterior and what's under the hood.

Also, the ride comfort of the C63 is not as good as the M3 for a daily driver m(stated in numerous reviews). Of course there is more torque, but if you shift the M3 higher up on the RPMs you will tap tons of torque....how much do you really need?!?

M3 = Better MPG, Ride Comfort, Styling (IMO), Interior and Options

+ Lease rates for it are much better than the C63....

M3 = Sold
You don't even know the lease rates for the C63. The option pricing isn't even out yet.

You haven't seen the black birdseye maple trim in the C63, either, apparently.

BMW interiors are far superior in quality and fit and finish compared to any other car manufacturer (besides maybe ferrari) so far as i'm concerned. The cars wear well and do not turn into rattle boxes (in my experience) as an owner and valet driver at a local 5 star hotel.

Mercedes are great cars, don't get me wrong, but the quality of the interiors, fit, finish, and overall attention to detail is just lackluster. I've driven the new C multiple times, and agree that the styling is dramatic and appealing, yet the interior is cheap feeling. I can't help but feel MB won't change any of the interior plastics or anything in the C63 to make it feel any better.

With the c63 though, MB will allow you to special order and they will build to spec with AMG Performance Studio accessories (carbon brakes, suspension found on the CLK63 BLACK edition, etc, etc).

Both will be great cars, and I suppose time and opinion will only tell which is the better of the two.

I agree with him, the AMGs are nice and fast but the corner abilities are nowhere up to par to any Ms.

I am leaning towards the C63's design. I saw a CLK63 AMG Blackline driven by a 20 years old chick today. Hot.

He won't be able to legally experience the superior handling of the M on the street anyways. If he takes it on track the AMG blackline's performance would provide more than adequate fun and thrills. In a non-racing application, the 5-15 seconds faster laptime is really more for bragging rights than anything else. Driver will be the biggest flaw there.

What you think?

I instructed a guy in a C63 this past friday at Laguna Seca raceway...seemed pretty fast...but it was only 505 bhp...the back seats are a total joke...you could put two grocery bags back there..THAT IS IT!

Neither both will have to hit the gas stations more than a crack addict hitting their dealer. With gas going over $3 a gallon+++ both are going to have horrible resale especially with a car and a V8 getting 12-13mpg on a 16 gallon tank expect around 200 miles on a tank. For me that means hitting the station twice a week and dropping $400-500 a month just in gas. The 335i tuned is a much better value and has the advantage of having better gas milage, and can be made faster in a strait line for cheap who cares about the track neither the C63 or M3 are real track cars anyways.

m3 of course. ask yourself this question, if you see a 5 yr old mb c32 amg and a 5 yr old e46 m3 on the road which one would you prefer? yeah sure the new amg version of the c class looks hot right now but it won't stand the test of time.

C63 exterior is HOT, but the interior fit and finish leaves much to be desired.

Between those two choices its close. M3 if you go to the track. C63 if you mostly drive streets.

The only ones I have seen were press cars in Arizona. Haven't seen one at the dealerships. Also, s4to335 said it has 505bhp The 2008 C63 has 457 bhp (marketing says 450 HP).

It depends upon what you want...

C63 crushes the m3 in a straight line and will be more rare

M3 is the better handler and is faster around a track

Both will offer a dual clutch transmission and can be had in sedan form and from the initial info looks like the pricing is very close. The exteriors are pretty equal (based largely upon personal preference) but I think the m3 interior is much nicer. If it matters to you, the M3 will get better gas milage as premium gas is now $4 per gallon. The C class I drove at the C event hosted by Mercedes had a very cheap plastic interior with a few rough edges. While the m3 has a great exhaust note. I feel the C63 has a better one with a deeper more aggressive growl.

Either way, lets face it...how can you go wrong with either. I am going to drive both then make my descion.
