CSL vs Amuse trunk for jet black

Was always set on getting an amuse trunk and have been constantly searching. Just came across a great deal on a CSL trunk and was looking to hear some opinions from those who had this situation of choosing a trunk and your review.

It really comes down to your choice. Authentic Amuse Trunks are $3500+ and have a solid month plus wait period. I think **********s offers a cheaper amuse trunk alternative. There are no authentic CSL Trunks. Even the higher end ones like my Vorsteiner isn't a perfect fit. It's a lot better fit than some of the "cheaper" options. I personally like both styles. But the CSL has always been my favorite.

At the end of the day, it's how much you want to spend to achieve the look you want. You can always swap out a new trunk if you get tired but it'll cost you the $$$.

For me, I don't like the CSL trunk. It doesn't look right. The curve on the fender coming up to the trunk has a more gradual slope (to match the OEM trunk slope) than the CSL trunk. The result is an interruption of that body line going from the rear quarter/fender to the trunk.

The Amuse trunk doesn't have this "problem" because of the "ducktail".

I've been researching the same thing for my jet black but I've made my decision on the Amuse. The CSL is nice too but....

JL Motoring offers a nice replica and I think with a nice paint job will look great. Here is a photo JL Motoring sent me the other day but it isn't painted. Either way send me some pictures of what you get, this would be helpful. BTW, how do you like the Gintani sport?

How much are they charging?
Also, love my exhaust. Perfect tone no drone but haven't paired it with an x pipe cause I'm afraid it would be to loud then

Around $700.00 plus extra to find the painter. Good buy considering you will likely one day revert back to stock for whatever reason. Yes have no fear because it will be too loud with xpipe. Yeah, lemme know what you do.

Be wary of "cheaper" trunks. I bought a "cheaper" CSL lid compared to my "higher end" one. The cheaper one didn't fit and the trunk didn't even close. The higher end one that I have now fits ten times better. It's a gamble. But hey, it's your money.

Agreed. The JL Motoring one pictured above is pretty low quality IMO (waviness and fitment issues).

Does anyone have experience with any specific vendors or have knowledge of what/whose fits and whose doesn't? I want to pull the trigger, but dont want to pay for crap fit.

I have a useless JL Motoring one sitting in my house because it doesn't fit or close. I ended up with a Vorsteiner. It fits but it's about 8.5/10. There are some gaps and the edges aren't flushed. It's better than JL Motoring but it's always a gamble. I would go with IND but ask for a local body shop to paint match it. I've seen IND pictures of painted trunks and the paint match is terrible. I worked at a major automotive manufacturing plant in the paint shop for 3 years so I know paint. Even crappy off-colors, we'd scrap the car.

Yep my JL Motoring one has waviness. If you paint it, then you won't see it. But the fact that there's waviness means that their QC isn't where it should be.

Your pics definitely helped me decide on the amuse. I love the curve of the CSL but it points out more than up and I guess I prefer the "kick" look.
Does anyone know where I can find the best replica vendor?
