Actually, I think this BMW accessory sucks. It would have being far better if the accessory integrated in with 6FL ... but it doesn't. So all it offers it charging the iphone (which 6FL does anyway), and allowing you to use the BMW Shark fin for Telephone reception.

Hmmmm well we have had the M3 in Australia for nearly six months, but still no iPhone released here...

All have to do is you buy an Iphone in the US then you jailbreak it, we haven't got it yet in Guatemala, it's suppose to come around April, I've got mine since November

Better this situation than the reverse

Colleague of mine has an iPhone .. got it from his neighbour who hacked it to work on Optus (I think). Everytime I have tried to phone him on it, he has been out of service, and everytime he has shown the thing off to others at work, the battery has run flat.

Nice but will it fit if the iPhone is in a case? I've got the case by Contour. If it would fit, I'd buy it.

I have both cradle and y-cable: When its iPod functionality is not needed the iPhone is in the cradle, elsewise it's connected via cable and sits in the pocket. Some say BMW is working on a new version of the cradle which enables simultaneous playback, but don't know if that's true.

Depends if the y-cable charges the phone and if the phone is capable of music playback with the bluetooth active (it should work)

If you want the best from both worlds, having a 16GB pen drive in the USB port with the iPhone in the cradle ready to make calls is the way to.

Why is there no adapter for the Treo and Blackberry? Just as common as the Iphone and way more common than that motorola phone that has this accessory.

The cradle connectivity is to charge the phone and to use the external sharkfin car antenna. It does not provide any interface for music.

The 6FL cable will also charge the phone and provide a interface to music. The normal bluetooth link will allow calls to be made through the BMW system. Only the external antenna cannot be used in this case.

The Bluetooth connection is unaffected, be with the cradle or with the 6FL connection, so yes, you will still have the access to your phonebook thru BT in your iDrive display.

Required is 633 (or 644) AND 6FL AND 6FN. Now to the best part:
6FN is NOT retrofittable.

So only Oct 09 and on production cars can use this adapter? You always seem to be right about things, but where did you hear the part about not being retrofittable?
