I can't seem to make my mind between getting the new M3 CP or a Corvette Z06.... I had my mind set on the Z06 until I got the new 335xi cp last January. I liked the 335xi but it is not fast enough especially when I compare it to my 1999 Vette that I still have. I know they are two different cars but I like to have the speed in a nice sunny day. What do you guys think?

Z06, you can dust the new M3 all day.

if you need to carry more than 1 person in style and want more creature comforts, and an automated trans, go M3
Z06 unfortuantely only in manual, and rides a bit rough and a bit loud once those flaps open up, but man what a beast of a car. |

I drove an '07 C6 with auto trans before I gave my money down for the e92...couldnt feel the horses...now that I have fallen in love with the DCT version of e92 I dont know if I will enjoy the Z06's manual tranny...the only plus point IMHO for a z06 is the looks and maybe the HUD....

Z06, I usually dont recomend Vettes but the Z06 is just out of this world, plus with the welcomed interior upgrades its now been given the quality it deserves. The only downside to the Vette is that about 80% of them are owned by mid-life crsis stricken men (and their wives) If you look beyond that stigma you cant go wrong. I honestly would just work harder and save a little more money and put in an order for the ZR!

I agree with ZR1 but you guys don't know how hard and how much it will cost to get one. I know for a fact that the 1st one was sold for 1m yeb a vette for 1M. I do have a C5 99 Vette which drives like new but once I got the new 335xi cp last December I started to have another thoughts about the Z06...I still think the z06 will be a better choice as an exotic car. Any way I will wait until the local dealer get the M3 and take it for test drive and take it from there.....

hard to say about your situation, you have a 335i do you want to keep that or keep the older vette?
Speaking for myself, I think I'd go with the M3 (obviously am here on M3 forum, not on Z06.com). I have a S2000 (2-seat sports car) if I went with the Z06 that would be two 2-seat cars. I'd rather keep S2000 (toy) and add a M3 (all around plus fast IMO). I do know how the Z06 is much faster but I don't go that fast, worry about tickets. The GTR v M3 is more my question since they are both 2+2 cars. |

In everyday driving, the USABLE power of the 2 cars is going to be similar, even in stoplight to stoplight racing.
The M3 will probably be easier to launch, esp with M-DCT, and the Z06 won't pull away until higher speeds... by that time you will be at the next light or pulled over by Johnny Law.If you race on the TRACK, then the Z06 is the obvious choice. If you feel more drawn to the Vette for whatever reasons, then that's your car. Me, my next car is gonna be German, dangit!!
