Stereo

Does anyone else think it's kind of odd that the 335 has a better standard stereo than the M3? Am I going to be disappointed in the quality of the standard system compared to the 335? I'm trying to keep the price down a bit so I didn't order it. I guess I can listen to the rumble of the exhaust instead!

Yes, this has been discussed in several threads. I guess they were trying to keep the base price down, but not having Logic7 available as an option is strange. $1,900 for the upgraded system is pretty steep, though I ended up going for it. See this thread for more info: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=audio

$1900 + NAV which I'm not getting. Very expensive option!

The car should have had its rumored base price of $62K with a premium sound system and bolstered bottom seat cushions. It's stupid the base system is a 10 speaker system, crap compared to the L7 that is standard in the e92 335i and that you MUST order iDrive/Nav to get it. Therefore, they know and pushed the selling price up to what they wanted in the first place, approx. $62K base.

I somewhat disagree with that. I think it's fine for upgraded sound system to be optional, with a commensurate base price. Some have no desire for it, and should be able to skip it. Ther ought to be an option for a mid-range system like Logic7 w/o iDrive, though.

Read ALOT about the Premium Sound, after all the research, I would say taht you are getting $1900 worth of technology and equipment. The DIRAC is only on the M5/M6 and you get 6 more speakers. Better amps, better speakers, eq... and the 4 year warranty not to mention the stock look. I would say, if you EVER plan to upgrade, just buy the Premium. If you've never upgraded your audio before, definitely don't bother.
