M3 E92 Engine Tuning (Noelle Motors) 476 BHp!!!

Hello Everyone,

Take a look at a new product I found at Noelle Motors in Germany : M3 E92 = 476 Bhp!!!

The curve is sooooo steep....

So.. this was expected. I was not expecting such huge gains though. I hope they do reliability tests and post those up as well.

Looking at the website, the conversion looks pretty standard.. so reliability can't be too much of an issue...ECU + high flow sports cats..

Anyone notice it looks like they increased the displacement? They state 4.2L and 4197ccm.
I figured one mention would be a typo, but two?

That is a good catch, and a bit interesting since they don't mention any other type of modification. Plus, I looked briefly around their site and didn't see any other e9x m3 mods what so ever.

Either they just got the facts wrong from the get-go or something is up here.

So I got a reply back from the company.

Most of our clients of course ignore this and take the risk...

You will see that we offer a 335 flash, which is undetecable by your local dealer and cannot be overwritten by future BMW software updates...
So it looks like the 4.2L on the website was just an error.

Keep in mind that with such a high rpm range on the new M3, any increase in torque will give you a much higher corresponding increase in hp. This engine should also respond very well to FI.

Not true on multiple accounts. The compression ratio is 12:1, which granted is quite high. However, the RS4 has been successfully SC-ed, and it is running 12.5:1.

I understood that the MTM supercharged RS4 had it's CR reduced, was this not the case?

I think a good indicator of what is achievable as far as compression ratios and FI you should look at the Audi S6 and RS6 engine. In the S6 it's CR is 12.5:1 but with the RS6 it drops to 10.5:1, I would reckon much over this would cause problems long term and in any case you will have to lose that almighty rev range into the bargain.

I am still a little doubtful over the claimed improvements that have been achieved from such small alterations.

If you can't believe a longstanding BMW engineer (Karl-Otto Noelle) based in the same tiny Bavarian village as Alpina, who can you trust?

Maybe Superchargers don't require a down in compression like is always the case with Turbochargers.

I must say I looked for evidence to say different but all the engines I can find which have been both N/A and Turbocharged seem to have their compression dropped by on average 1.5~2:1.

What interested me personally about this conversion is how "Safe" and "respectable" it is..

Lots of people dream on this forum dream about "Supercharger this" and "Stroker kit that... " But they see no reliability or run a mile when it comes to paying the check..
