I'd imagine it's not much different than on the regular e90/e92 3-series.
Here's a list of DIY's (including several V1 hardwire instructions) from e90post: -- http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1721 Hope that helps.

The easiest and safest way is to run it through your fuse box with a fuse tap. Very simple in my Range Rover. I will be doing it again in about 1 week on my M3.

I did the direct tap into the green/white wire most sites discuss using the Valentine-furnished 3M wire tap. There is one particular web page that I can't find right now that has a great picture of which green/white wire to use (there are two up there). Assuming you can find the correct wire, here's what I did - it kills two birds with one stone:
1. Using a Torx driver remove the two screws that hold the sun visor pivot end in place. Drop visor down, remove wire connector to completely free the visor. Repeat for other visor. 2. Using Torx driver remove the small visor clip piece that holds the other end of the visor up. Repeat for other clip. 3. Now the entire front edge of the headliner will just bow down. Reach up with your fingers and locate the map light assembly clips (2x) that everybody universally says are a real PIA to release. Simply press on one clip then the other and applying a little pressure the entire assembly will drop along the forward edge. Removal complete without prying, scratches, or four letter words. 4. Follow the web site of your choice for locating the green/white wire and tap with the 3M tap. 5. Loosen grounded bolt, insert ground wire spade and retighten ground bolt. 6. Plug in V1 and verify wiring job is functional 7. Take visors to a workbench and lay down, with airbag warning stickers facing up. 8. Swab entire surface of sticker with Goof-off paint/varnish remover. Do not get excessive amount on the visor. It will slightly eat it otherwise 9. Let stand, rewetting as needed any areas that dry. 10. After a minute or two the entire sticker will wrinkle up. Starting at one corner slowly peel back the sticker. Be patient, pull slowly 11. Sticker should come off cleanly. Some sticker adhesive may be left behind. Do not attempt to remove it with Goof-off 12. Reconnect visor connectors, gently push connector up into the hole, then relocate swivel back in hole. There are small centering posts that will relocate the swivel hinges properly. Replace Torx screws 13. Reattach visor clips 14. Done! If you look closely you will see remnant adhesive, but with the visor up it will hardly be noticeable - certainly much less noticeable than obnoxious yellow stickers! I always do hardwire/sticker removal as a tandom. Some time is lost removing the visors but it is made up for by the map light assembly removal, which turns into a 10 second job when you can simply compress them with your fingers. Almost cheating!

My installation looks identical to the one shown in the above link. Here's one that shows the visor. A little artifact of the sticker is left behind but when sitting in the car this is not noticeable due to the angle

V1 install
Here is a pic of the hardwire setup on my E46. I found a coupler at Radio Shack that you can install in the plastic panel (use with a 12" modular cord) for easy removal of the detector when you park. You might also want to consider a remote volume control mounted to the lower dash panel, and perhaps remote display (I built mine into the cluster).

Just did the V1 mount in my M3.
Unscrewed the sunflap drivers side, sunflap mount drivers side (near the center panel), passenger side sunflap mount. The header then drops down enough that you can easily feel the retaining clips for the center mount -and pop it out. WAY easier than doing the damn screwdriver trick which ensures you mess up your headliner. Anyway - at that point you need to bolt the ground to the 10mm hex bolt. And the power clip to the green/white wire in the 1st harness (on the drivers side). (there's a smaller 2 wire, 4 connector clip but ignore that one.) You will need to peel back some of the felt wrap to find the wire - but it's easy after that. The actual box get's mounted/pushed back towards the moon roof - and then you button it up. Pretty easy.
