Heart Attack

I just got off the phone with BMW and the automated lady said my sedan has an estimated completion date of February 22, 2008 and while this means little on it's own the fact that I just ordered it last week does... Did I get lucky and how did this happen? This can't be correct can it?

Sorry very new to this whole process so please forgive my noobness

OC says Sched for Prod, my sales person said it was in 150... so this baffles me. Is there anyway they can build a car in 12 days?

If your dealer altered a spec that was already far along in the process it is very possible. Otherwise it's about 6 weeks minimum to go from order accepted to completion. That's great!

I think it takes around a week to build a car.

You probably landed on an 112 order that someone bailed on at the last minute or had never been associated with a specific customer.

If UK / Euro experience is anything to go by, I would expect the US cars to arrive significantly more quickly than anticipated... maybe even 3 weeks before scheduled delivery; after launch of course.

As the song goes " Even the losers get lucky sometimes" ....
Just spoke with BMW and they did in fact confirm my car will be complete on February 22, 2008... then it looks like little over a month to get to Houston.
I would suspect there will be others who have their cars before me in Houston but anyone who would like to take a look at my sedan send me an email mduval1988@yahoo.com

Mine went from order accepted to completely built in about 4 weeks. I ordered it around Christmas, and it was finished on Jan 25th. I thought it was really odd but now I guess I am not the only one. Good luck, and I hope you get it soon.

As of this morning the car had just left the paint shop. I am still in shock this is moving along as fast as it is.... I almost feel guilty.
