Does the republican party want a fascist state?

Before typing up a shit storm and hitting the quick respond, please understand that I'm not bashing the republicans, I'm simply trying to identify which direction they want to take the country in. In order to do so, please shed your association of fascism with Nazi Germany and Italy, and read the definition of the government:

Fascism is an authoritarian political ideology (generally tied to a mass movement) that considers the individual subordinate to the interests of the state, party or society as a whole. Fascists seek to forge a type of national unity, usually based on (but not limited to) ethnic, cultural, racial, religious attributes. Various scholars attribute different characteristics to fascism, but the following elements are usually seen as its integral parts: patriotism, nationalism, statism, militarism, totalitarianism, anti-communism, corporatism, populism, collectivism, autocracy and opposition to political and economic liberalism.

I freely concede that this is farfetched, but the fact that in my eyes there is a trend is scary. I'm simply looking for input, not a flame war, so please keep this civil in light of a fairly tabu topic.

P.S
Not a citizen, so I don't have a party affiliation nor am i able to vote, skip the leftist insults for other election threads. Thanks in advance.

Do democrats want a communist state? Sure does seem like it.. But that doesnt represent the entire party, so dont try and label a few "Republicans" as fascists...

Can we all stop the name calling and talk about the issues.. Without vauge statements with no facts.

"A social scientist who understands human nature will not dismiss the vital roles of free choice, voluntary cooperation and moral integrity – as liberals do," he says. "A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, drive, personal appeal and work ethic, and then try to impose economic and social equality on the population – as liberals do. And a legislator who understands human nature will not create an environment of rules which over-regulates and over-taxes the nation's citizens, corrupts their character and reduces them to wards of the state – as liberals do."

Dr. Rossiter says the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:

creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization;
satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;
augmenting primitive feelings of envy;
rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government.

"The roots of liberalism – and its associated madness – can be clearly identified by understanding how children develop from infancy to adulthood and how distorted development produces the irrational beliefs of the liberal mind," he says. "When the modern liberal mind whines about imaginary victims, rages against imaginary villains and seeks above all else to run the lives of persons competent to run their own lives, the neurosis of the liberal mind becomes painfully obvious."

The question is not farfetched at all, and is part of why I have left the Republican Party.

This web site, and the book behing it, pretty well covers the question:

And since we already have a rant, let me repeat a part of the definition: opposition to political and economic liberalism

Fascist state - probably not. I think if anything we have more of an oligarchy setup under the cover of democracy with the idea passed along that "the people" still have a voice and a choice. Here is an interesting article from 7 years ago regarding our 'financial oligarchy' in office. http://www.thefourreasons.org/bush-m16.shtml.html

And for the record I hold no party affiliation but am more partial to republican values even though our administration has been a joke since day one.

We're on track to become a socialist government that's for sure.

I think the voting is rigged now. There are no definite reps or dems anymore. Just a mismash of garbbled langauge, "I'll do what Bush hasn't...", "I'll fix this or that..", with no defined answers of what they're plans truly are.

I use to really pay attention to politics, especially during election years. I just can't anymore. There's no one that is believable.
