Explain Offset?

hi all,

i'm a layman on this stuff. what does offset mean regarding putting aftermarket wheels on a vehicle? some of these Breyton models are incredible...

Wheel Fitment Calculator

I didn't create it, and I no longer remember who did, but this is a handy spreadsheet that graphically demonstrates the effect of changing offset. It also calculates a bunch of other cool stuff like change in speedo readings for various tire size changes, etc

Edit - Duh, the author is right on the spreasheet!

The uploaded one is indeed corrupt, although my file is fine. I don't use winzip, I use Winrar, so maybe there is an issuse with that. Here's another upoad attempt
