congrats! Did you have a tough time deciding on the FR for your interior? I wonder if this will be a common combo JB/FR....Do you think the red interior will bring out the purple hues in the JB paint? Or am I overthinking this?

Pretty much everyone who has seen the Jerez/FR combo say it looks really good. I've ordered it as well. The purple that shows up in some of the pics have been deemed not representative by most who have seen it in person. It's supposed to be more of a blue than purple although purple is in the paint mixture as well.

Congrats on your order burrito.

Congrats! Nice color combination.
Is this an actual order or did you give them your specs and they will order once they get an allocation? I'm asking since I'm waiting for them to get allocations. I have been on their wait list since March 07, almost one year and they will not even allow me to spec the car...

who is your sales rep? feel free to take it to PMs if you don't want to start dropping names on the internet. I was asked via email today to give some specs and was told that they would order my car today.

edit: perhaps its because I don't want the 19" or M-DCT?
double edit: also the thought of the damaged interlagos crossed my mind and played a part in choseing JzB

hmm. They say that they have an order number now. But they want a $4000 non-refundable deposit. Is this normal?

I also had a 1k deposit. They took my ordering info and today he said that they put the order into the system, and now they need $4000 non-refundable.

My car is already produced and hopfully getting on a boat today.

They are affraid you are going to bail on your order and being JZB and red its a rare color combo. they want to make sure you buy the car. Expecally if it hasent gone into production yet. (so they can have time to change the spec.)

I would tell them I will give you the 5k when the car changes to status 150. At least then you will know the car will be in your hands within 1.5 months.

Otherwise you might be waiting 2-3 months will they play with your 5k.

Jerez/FR is by no means a rare combo. Several members, including myself, have already ordered cars with that combo. Some of the initial cars delivered to the UK had that combo. An unusual/problematic combo would be something more like Red on red, which would most likely look terrible since the reds don't match.

I bet it has more to do with the moonroof choice given only 25% of the 100 respondents to the CF/moonroof survey on the forum seem to prefer the moonroof.

I'd say find another dealer. My $1000 deposit is refundable until production starts, and is all that is required. There are many dealers out there who take deposits that are entirely refundable. I haven't heard of anyone paying a deposit higher than $2k on this forum for the M3. Some have not put down a deposit at all and still were able to order.

Yes, but it isn't refundable once your order is in right? Status 150?

Some dealers say it's refundable even if the car is in the lot and you don't want it. Varies from dealer to dealer. Clarify that and get it in writing in advance.

My deposit is $0, but with Performance Delivery on my 330i, I had to pay the total $$$ the week before I picked it up.

Burrito, that dealer sounds like trouble. I will pull my deposit from Morristown BMW and go somewhere else. Good luck to you!
