Thumbs up I pre-ordered Canon Rebel XSI (450D)!!!

It will ship on 4/15 from amazon. Can't wait.
I'm getting Sigma AF 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS. It should be a sweet combo.

I like the Sigma lenses. Let us know how you like the Camera. I have a regular Rebel XT and plain ol Cannon USM lenses.

It's worth waiting for. I almost bought XTI. Pro review:

For $200 or so more I would've bought a 40D.

It's more like $350 more. I paid $799 for the body only.

I know this one has the 12.2 megapixel sensor but what other big differences are there between this and the XTi?

I saw the 40D for sale in a Dell online deal for $1079. Amazon currently has the body only for $1099. So yea, 300 more, not $250.

Dell also had it for 1261 and you can buy a cheap 10-15% coupon on ebay. It includes a pretty good lens (Canon 28-135mm IS). You could always ebay the lens for 400-500.

Something the comparison doesn't touch on is the 40d's magnesium body and weatherproof seals.

That's why it costs 40% more.

On that note, the XSI isn't worth what it is compared to the XTI IMO.

And the 40D grip is sooo much better because of the bigger body.

XSi costs considerably more than XTI because it's just been released. XTi has been around for a while. Come X-mass price will be around $650.

XSi is somewhere between XTi and 40D specwise and pricewise. Good buy IMO. It narrows the huge gap between XTi and 40D.

This discussion reminds me of comments by 325 and 330 people when BMW released 328...
