It's not a US special, M3 washers are nowhere retractable unlike the standard E92 washers...

Best regards, south
Initial reports came out as retractable washers.

Oh, didn't know that. Thought it was pretty obvious since test cars had them for some time already (late '06).

I don't see much point to the headlight washers. I'm going to get just the heated seats so I won't have them.

+1

Makes for a cleaner bumper too.

I wonder if the reflectors are easy to pop out? On the AW cars they're going to look awfully ugly. I don't want a hole on the sides of my bumpers but I'd like to swap out the yellow for white reflectors.

Thanks a lot for the great reviews and eclectic photos ("huge gloves" )

On the dial, IMO the speedo is the biggest liar: 330 km/h (200 mph). Not even close (delimited) and what, 180s not. Tres ambitious.

Good model shots too

Having seen it IRL, I'm curious to hear your impression of the silver ext. leather in the coupe? How do you think it fairs vs. the black leather option? Is it too much silver w/ SSII? This was a potential option for me... TIA.

P.S. Thanks for sharing the great variety of pics!

Great pics, and of my favorite color. Thank you very much !

I'm also interested in your impressions of the silver interior. I wanted it but after seeing the pics, it looks kind of dull... I might just go with traditional Silver/Black. What will you be choosing for your sedan?

Thanks again.....

The reflector has flanges on the back that clip into a hole into the bumper. As far as I could tell, the hole is the same shape as the relector, just a bit smaller. In other words its not just a few little mounting holes - or so it appears. So if you take them off, you'll have big openings in the bumper. But I'm sure there will be colored blanks available aftermarket.

Well, I'm not the biggest fan of light interiors myself, but it looks pretty good. Extended, it seemed a bit much to me. And I'm not sure it'd look right with metalic trim of which I am a big fan. So I probably would not get silver; I would prefer the black.

I am getting an Interlagos Blue car and right now I'm actually leaning toward Speed Cloth which is black leather with dark cloth seating surfaces. If I do decide get leather it would be black almost for sure, with an outside chance at Fox Red. I know the latter will raise eyebrows, given it would be with Interlagos, but I think the darker red might actually look good against the blue. Most will probably disagree with that.

I agree w/ your taste on the extended light leather. On the IB/ red, I've not contemplated it and thought that combination was not available.

I bet you're right! It will be the first mod I would consider - those reflectors are an eyesore.

does anybody know if there is a good automotive reason to make a hole for the reflector? what i'm getting at is, why did bmw choose to do it this way instead of just sticking it on there?

Damn, Audi interiors look hawt. I wish BMWs could design their interiors the way they do their engines.

Just got back from the NAIAS. That hole is big; full shape of the reflector.

OMG, that sucks. I'm getting AW so maybe I can mitigate this with a replacement white reflector.

BMW,

For a nice red, see: Audi, Ferrari and Porsche, and just about every other car manufacturer. Love the Ferrari engine pic.
