just as good as we hopped and expected... but we know bmw for sorta lying with numbers, usually to our benefit :-) but eh.. lets see.. dual clutch is the way of the future... this will be awesome and i too only care about 0-100 runs than 0-60... 0-60 is too short and so bullshit... there is more fun when im leading at 85mph and at 105mph u are beginning to past me with my foot slammed to the pedal..

Before anyone roasts me for not searching..... I have and I've read this whole thread..... couple of questions.....
According to the M-DCT PDF the box has the "option" of "gas on the downshift" I assume this is a throttle blip to match the revs just like the Ferrari paddle shifters? This is great news if true but I'm wondering if the "optional" bit is just a miss translation from German?..... ie. do you guys think it will be something that the driver can select via the i-Drive set-up? or just that the box will do it when needed? Also is there any speculation on how the "dynamic torque surge" will actually work when shifting up in manual mode? I hate the idea of every shift being so smooth that you can't feel it so I have my fingers crossed that the "surge" is designed to give the driver a similar shove in the back in the same way a manual change does. Is it also safe to assume that the quoted 0.2sec advantage of the M-DCT over the manual is based on the manual being driven by a pro? if so most "normal" drivers will probably be closer to half a second quicker to 60mph???? Finally has anyone tried the CarTest sim with the E93 M3 numbers? Last edited by Wads; 03-23-2008 at 05:14 PM. |
