Allocation of 8 presets on i-drive?

I was wondering how the few M3 owners have allocated the 8 preset buttons for the i-drive?

Starting to think about little things like this as I'm only 7 months away from taking delivery of my new M3.

I have only been able to allocate entertainment functions to the buttons and have been too lazy to read the manual to see if this is all they will do.

1. ABC Newsradio (AM)
2. ABC Local Radio
3. Some FM Station
4. JJJ (FM) - So I can listen to This Sporting Life on a Sunday
5. USB Aux Audio
6. Channel Nine Digital TV
7. Nothing
8. Nothing

iDrive itself is easy to navigate through the entertainment options anyway, so I haven't used the shortcuts.

Apparently you can do more than that, such as your favourite destination for example.

Ditto, 'cause I Drive is easy to navigate, but I think speed dialing is probably a good idea (per #3) until I can think of something else.

Depends what kind of USB drive you are talking about. I have tried a couple of drives and had no problems with any of the flash memory variety. I am currently using an 8Gig Transcend JetFlash drive and it works fine ... i Drive displays the directory structure and you just navigate to the song/folder/playlist you like. As an experiment, I plugged in a 250gig Western Digital Passport hard drive and this did not work ... may not have been getting enough power from the USB port (my assumption).

Exactly, it's truly a delight. They only wrong navigation I've done with iDrive is because of me thinking wrong.

Do you mean you've set 3: rd button to speed dial menu? Why not just say "Dial number" and it takes you there directly! I tend to use voice control quite alot.
The only thing that I could use this for mainly is dialing numbers since English is not my first number and I tend to stumble from time to time when "translating" the number to English.

I never use voice controls, never seem to remember them, so speed dialing works nice for me.
