no argument there, at first, image is EVERYTHING, but eventually it crumbles if you have nothing to back up the image. Look at the subprime debacle; all those people buying houses they couldn't afford.

Then again, for the vain, they don't look at the long term, only the short term, so for that "image is everything' works.

I leased my car because it was the best bang for the buck in it's class- I was contemplating an S5 but, the 335i was a cheaper lease and has virtually the same performance- plus I've never owned a new BMW and I've always loved Bimmers. I think my car has the best balance of performace and elegance for the price hands down.
