Some more info: We have also have a gallery thread so feel free to post up pics of your M3's http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39498 I will start off by saying i have ordered a e92 M-Sports 335, i have waited so long for this kit mainly due to the upgraded sports suspension. My delivery is early march and the wait is at times unbearable. ![]()

Hi Chris,
Ripples was excellent. The 8 course menu went from 7:45 to 11:45. Food was very good and the staff were superb (everyone was freindly, jovial and relaxed). Great atmosphere and (almost) unsurpased location. Viewing the fireworks from almost under the bridge was brilliant. A really enjoyable evening ... even the bum fight getting back to Milsons Point station didn't put a dampener on it. |

I saw a set on a e92 335 the other day and it looked so sporty and mean. When i was at the Sydney Motor Show last year they had a blk saphire e92 m-sport 335 with the 19inch 225's and i was about to burst out in tears because it was exactly what i had ordered a week before. I am so over this waiting crap So on another note i called Nissan Aus yesterday and found out an estimate price on the R35 GT-R. The guy said there will probably be 2 specs arriving here one being luxurious and the other being a stripped out sports version like the Porsche GT2. The price will start from 150K which is a substantial increase from the R34's 120k but its all worth it when you see a Ferrari F430 struggle to beat you in a 0-100km/h race. ![]()

My GTR issues:
1. Availability in Oz 2. Specialised servicing required and number of dealers offering GTR servicing (not a biggie) 3. I realise maintenance costs are not a huge issue in cars of this price range, and I accept that my M3 will be expensive to service and for parts, but hearing things like the GTR needing the plasma lining in the cylinder walls redone and a full race-spec strip/balance of major components done regularly means maintenance costs may end up being not expensive, but silly-expensive if you know what I mean I don't like the look of the car but note that it has a very low drag coefficient and I read somewhere that the GTR's look is probably "ahead of it's time" which I think could be a very accurate observation. |

I guess its my weakness If the Camaro dissapoints then i would choose an M3 with M-DCT or a GT-R, depending on what i like at the time.

GeriFix a few of my best mates live in Cremorne and they said they saw a White M3 go past. It might have been you on military road( i take it you live in Mosman/Cremorne). Ill keep an eye out for your car when im there to visit my mates. Talking about the area i have a freaking SCECGS Redlands re-union that i have to go to soon, it just feels like yesterday that i finished school.

I've been all over the place in the last 2 weeks and have been down Military Road a couple of times (got friends in Manly and Curl Curl). I live in Wollstonecraft and work in Killara. Mine is still the only E92 M3 I've seen on the road ..... still feeling quite exclusive ![]() |

Now i just hope it arrives here or i will have to write a letter to Bob Lutz to tell him how stupid he is for not wanting to compete globally. Some great muscle cars are only in the U.S, if they were released here id be driving a different car to what im about to get. Can someone say Z06 Covette Private importers charge an arm and a leg for the muscle cars i love and thats the reason BMW is continuously getting my business. I enquired about a Shelby Mustang the other day and i got quoted $210k I was looking at the prices in the U.S and they were going for around 65K. If Ford brought these cars over they would easily be priced at 100-120k and i would not hesitate to buy one. Im just hoping the Camaro will be available through HSV or another GM Subsidiary, fingers crossed.

Hi guys – I’m new to this forum but reading the range of posts especially on the main forum I cant understand the price differential between US M3s and the rest of the world apart from LCT– does anyone have a rational explanation as I cant find one online – hasn’t stopped me ordering one but it’s a bit annoying.

Well tax for starters, luxury car tax, GST and stamp duty added up to around $40,000 for my car...
Market size, 1 million new cars sold in Australia last year, I did a quick google, in 2004 nearly 8 million were sold in the USA. I guess the larger market in the USA just gives so much more competition. If BMW charged more they wouldn't sell. Here in Australia they have no problems selling their Australian allotment, it will still be a six month wait to order yourself your own M3. I guess there is still more to it though..... |

Hi bdh2009.
I think Oz is right. The US is the biggest market in the world and if BMW want to sell cars there, they have to be competitively priced. American made cars are cheap (by our standards), so foreign makers need to price their product accordingly. |
