I think it sounds phenomenal! I can't wait to hear more exhausts, but this one is def the best so far. I love the angry tone, I get really tired of the shy raspy sound.

EDIT: It does sound a bit loud for my tastes...I like the overall tone though.

Well done. I think that it sounds awesome. However I would prefer something in between stock and the opened up sound for everyday use. Cheers.

why does everyone keep changing the exhausts on the M3! It sounds amazing as is. BMW spent loads of time and money in sound rooms to achieve the right sound for the stock exhausts.

The reason why people mod their exhausts is because BMW must still have a certain restriction to them to make it DOT certified. Other after market exhausts are more free flowing & produce a meaner sound. It's not for everybody...... but, it is for a few. Those few put exhausts There is a science of getting the right "note" out of the exhaust too.

Not to mention performance gains and styling appeal as well.........

IMO it does sound a bit like an american V8, but it still sounds a good amount more refined, so something inbetween a german and american V8. regardless of preconceptions, I do think it sounds great. I'd still probably rather get a full exhaust system anyways, but curious what the cost for something like this is ?

As it has been said, BMW does test into sound chambers, however they are not the only one, we do the same thing, but we take it to another level.

LowG, all I can say is oh my god!! The sound is absolutely unbelievable..
But I think it really is too lound for highway/long travel. Could you please post videos with "OFF mode" (more silent) outside and also inside the car?

A lot of people dont know this but the little electric motors that control the valve are crap. I had a QTP valve on my E46 M3 and it failed miserably, on several occassions I had to get the motor replaced. They swapped it out no questions asked but it made me never want another valve cutout again. I would rather go with a real exhaust then some gimmick that makes noise. If you want a loud exhaust, go with a non resonated setup and remove the cats, with a race muffler. It will sound GOOD and loud, not crappy and loud, and at least you know your getting real power. I felt a significant loss in low end power with the valve open on my E46. They work wonders on turbo cars though.....

As far as I know, "Das Auspuff" means "Exhaust" in Deutsch!
