what is your favorite way to take care of telemarketers?

I am sick of telemarketing , really sickkkkkkkk .

it should pretty much be illegal for them to call people .

fucking bastards , they call me 7-8 times a day .

Best thing I ever did was sign up on the goverment initiated "no call list".
The only people who call me are people I already do business with, like Comcast, and my bank.

Usually just say no thanks and hang up. I'm never rude, as these poor people on the phone are just trying to make money, and usually don't have any other option. But I'll NEVER buy anything. I don't want to encourage them. I'm also agressive with their employers to get them shut down, especially as I'm on the no call list, and shouldn't be getting calls. With companies I already do business, I've gone as far as cancelling my accounts, or threatening if I ever get another call, but you have to talk to someone more senior.

Hi can I put you on eternal hold... Most say sure I have had a few stay on hold for 10 mins + most hang up after 20-30 seconds.

blowhorns and whistles work pretty well when you're pissed...
or when you feel humourous, start conversations with them about whatever you want to chat about... make them tell you a joke...
hanging up without saying a word also works when you have no time for their sales pitch...
but the latest one I do is keep asking them "what's in it for me" ... and "is that all, I want more..."
The last telemarketer called from some company with NASA in it's name... I acted like I won a space shuttle cruise... had the lady on the other end crying from laughter...
You can either get pissed or just focus on the positive and have some fun...

If anyone's interested, attached is the gov't "do not call list". I signed up for this about this time last year, I get maybe 1-2 calls PER MONTH!!!!

It's easy to sign up, and it's good for 5 years. If you do get a call, you can simply say "I'm on the national no call list". If you want, you can even register a complaint on this same web site. It works great.

I start speaking in Chinese (cantonese) and if they get a cantonese translator, I switch to Madarin. and if they get someone that speaks both, I tell them in English to suck my dick. They usually hang up after that.
