Might be a bit lonely here.

Our M3 forums might be a bit empty for a while. At least until March.

Thanks for getting them set up though!

I personally completely disagree with your philosophy. But to each his own.

For me, I'd want to get the car and enjoy it for a bit before completely changing it. That way the car will remain fresher for longer, and when it possibly does dull a bit that is when I would change something up. I'm not going to race it and Dallas doesn't even have a good track within reasonable distance to go to a track day, unless something new has opened since I've been gone. (Don't say Texas Motor Speedway, its just a big nascar oval)

Also, unless your absolutely loaded I wouldn't get a M3 just to rice it out. Thats what the 335i is for.

I'll respect your taste though since it is your money. I'd just hate to see ya get a M3 and then thrash it and get bored too quick. I use to play hockey with a guy similar to that and he knocked the M3 because he couldn't drag it. So naturally I lawl'd in his face.

Eagerly anticipating myself. Haven't put money down for my spot yet but I will soon. BMW Houston North dealership said I'd be #10 on the list. I figure 4-5 people would probably drop off when pricing comes out but it'll still be April or so until I get one, I assume.

Looks like I will order a basic M3, only 19's and a sunroof. I will upgrade the audio if it is available as a stand alone but appears not. I was so damn happy with the sport suspension on my 06 330i, no buttons to push, just get in and go, how could the M3 be worse? My 330i handled like a slot car and wasn't harsh on bumps at all.

IB/Speedcloth
19's
SR

That's it.

I may change my mind at the last minute and go with SSII, I will look at it IRL in Feb and check again.
Decisions decisions.

By the way, if anyone needs a good sales rep at a BMW in Houston, let me know.

I think you are right, this car is already awesome. I also prefer the look of the speedcloth over full leather (and you won't slode around as much).

Why stay away from the sunroof and how did you get a production start date while they were shut down for Christmas? They didn't open until 1/7...

That was the date i was given to me on 12/5 just after I had picked my options.

As per my dealer: my car didn't actually go into production until about 1/15.

I don't know why there was a lag.

the sunroof thing is just my opinion. I don't really use the sunroof in my 335, and I like the look of the CF roof. although i think that BMW has exagerated the benifits of the CF roof, to me it is worth shaving the lbs.

That would be awesome, but I dont think I will be seeing any Juarez M3's. The only "upscale" vehicles we see from Mexico around here are bulletproof/lifted danali's; which aren't really my cup of tea.

Cool Hello From Ft Bliss / El Paso Tx.

I PLAN TO DO SOME MODS TO MY M3, STARTING WITH A HAMANN FRONT SPOILER, ROOF SPOILER, AND REAR SPOILER. I PLAN TO PUT THE MAX RIM SIZE. 20 INCH RIMS AND THE MAX TIRE SIZE ON THE CAR MAINLY IN THE REAR. 20 X 9 INCH RIMS 245/30 ZR20 FRONT AND 20 X 10.5 REAR WITH 305/25 ZR20 TIRES AND A LAMBO DOOR KIT. I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY EXTRA WEIGHT BECAUSE I DON'T PLAN ON TAKING IT ON ANY RACE TRACK. I DON'T CARE IF ANY OF YOU WANT TO HATE AND CALL MY M3 A RICER, I JUST WANT MY M3 TO HAVE AND BE LIKE THE HAMANN M3. I'M HAPPY FOR ALL YOU GUYS THAT ORDERED A M3 NO MATTER HOW YOU PLAN OR WANT TO DO TO YOUR CARS. MY M3 WON'T BE BUILT UNTIL APRIL SO IN THE MEAN TIME I WILL JUST SIT BACK AND HURRY UP AND WAIT.
