Slicks + Nordschleife = Scary Movie. Impressions of RCN race #5

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Here's some impressions of the race last weekend.
I hoped that it will stop raining so that's why I didn't change
tires during the pitstop.

Wasn't the best decision!
see why...

I was hoping it wasn't going to happen, but since it made it into this video, I had a sense it was about to.

Excellent save 1:41 & car control--but what were you thinking w/ the slicks in those conditions?! lol

I bet you were really annoyed w/ yourself after that decision!

Did you win your class?

Good question. I thought and hoped that the conditions will get better…
But when I saw that it doesn't get better we started doing the math.
An extra pitstop would have cost us even more time so we choose to
stay out and try it that way.

Win? No. Finished overall 12th out of 175 cars. Normally I'm in the 4-6th
place overall range. The guys who changed to rain tires during the normal
pitstop with refueling had a major advantage in the 2nd stint as rain tires
give you 1-1,5minutes per lap in those conditions.

even on the way to the office and even if it's a 4banger Diesel with no diff locker.
It helps to keep your "buttmeter" adjusted
Mostly when we're too late for meetings it's because we ended
